A small-town, forbidden, standalone, new adult romance with Footloose meets A Star is Born vibes from USA Today & Wall Street Journal Bestselling author Jewel E. AnnHer boyfriend’s older brother should be off-limits, but he’s a sinful temptation.
Sarah is a preacher’s daughter and a people pleaser. She’s also on the verge of graduating high school and following her dream of singing in Nashville. The only thing standing in her way is that the entire town of Devil’s Head, Missouri, thinks she will marry Matt, the son of the town’s richest rancher.
But Sarah’s not sure he’s her future husband, especially when his older brother, Isaac, returns home after serving six years in the Army. He has tattoos on his arms and bad habits that are not “father-approved.”
When he’s not working on the ranch or roping at the rodeo, Isaac hangs out in the barn, playing his guitar. He’s trouble, but Sarah’s music-loving heart gravitates toward him.
Isaac loves consuming Sarah’s mind, crawling under her skin, backing her into corners, and whispering inappropriate things in her innocent ears.
After weeks of playful banter and guitar lessons blurring the line between right and wrong, Issac makes Sarah a proposition she can’t refuse.
But when the unthinkable happens, and everything she knows is destroyed, will Sarah make the right choice?

I could not have anticipated a more exciting, tumultuous or emotional story than Sunday Morning. This was nothing like I expected and everything I hoped for. There were the signature elements that we all know and love. Then there was the originality of the characters, their personalities and idiosyncrasies. I lived vicariously through Sarah and Isaac, and loved every little bit of this story. The instant attraction was arousing. The denial was endearing. The battle of wits entertaining, and the chemistry off the charts. Sometimes you have to be a little wicked, to get to the happy ever after, and this tale had it all. A little nice and lots of naughty. A truly spellbinding read that captivated and ensnared me. This will be tough to match. I am totally besotted with Sunday Morning. 5 stars

âSunday Morning, you could wrap me around your little finger if only you knew how to wield the power Iâm giving you.âUgh! This book! When I say I couldn’t put it down, I couldn’t put it down. The pastor’s daughter falling in love with her boyfriend’s older bad boy brother. Sold!Sarah has big dreams of a music career, but everyone assumes she will follow her high school boyfriend, Matt’s dreams instead, especially both their church loving family’s. Sarah is such a people pleaser I think she would have gone along with it all, until Isaac arrives back in town and they lock eyes in church one Sunday morning.âWeâre all sinners. What makes you think Iâm so innocent?âFrom there the banter starts. The looks, the thoughts and the stolen moments. Sarah is feeling the pressure from her upbringing as the pastor’s daughter and her family to live a “pure life” but the chemistry and bond with Isaac is just too strong. Isaac see’s Sarah for who she wants to be, not what she has been forced to become. I loved watching Sarah come into her own and take control of her own life with Isaac supporting her along the way.”Satan had a hold on me, and I knew it was wrong, but I couldnât wait for the next close encounter. The next thrill. The next risk. It was a glorious drug.”This story was complex and told beautifully and even tugged on my heartstrings and made me have a cry. Isaac and Sarah were meant to be.*disclaimer. I haven’t come across a Jewel book I haven’t liked. Jewel is queen*

This book is beautiful and has less angst than her normal stories, but the message to readers is wonderful. I enjoy books that have a song dedicated to a chapter and can hear the lyrics while reading. I must say though, as a huge Duranie, was a miss to not have Union of the Snake by Duran Duran 🙂

All the feels!
This book came highly recommended by someone I follow on Insta and just how she described it and her emotions about it made me know I needed to read it next. She was right. Iâve got tears spilling down my cheeks as I finish the epilogue. It was so good. The FMCâs journey reminded me a lot of my own love story with a man 11 years older than me who I knew was the right choice, even at 19. And weâve been married 17 years now. This story felt real and honest and gut wrenching and hopeful. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

No one does Forbidden love like this author
This book gave me ‘If this is love’ vibes and I am here for it. If you haven’t read that one by this author it’s a must!!Issac…. ahhh… new book boyfriend. I loved his character so much in the beginning. The banter was fantastic. I can’t describe it, but Issac’s character changed a bit the second half of the book. I still loved him. But it was like someone flipped a light switch and he was suddenly this ultra sweet boy. Not that I mind!!! Just his personality swapped pretty drastically.Loved the storyline. Strong plot. Quick read, enjoyed it start to finish.

Sarah & Isaac â¤ï¸
Set in 1985, Sarah is the preacherâs daughter and is about to graduate high school. Her boyfriend, Mattâs older brother Isaac is back home after being in the army for the past six years.Sarah has a very strong attraction towards Isaac and put all of that attraction towards Matt and decides to have sex with him for the first time. After a less than extravagant first time, she decides that she hates sex. That is until Isaac makes her feel coveted, beautiful, seen and safe, and wants her to follow her dreams of going to Nashville to sing.Along the way, Sarahâs faith in God is being tested over and over again after accidentally learning anotherâs secret, but especially after tragedy strikes.Sunday Morning is about finding oneself and not conforming with what other people want you do to, about Sarahâs faith in God, doing what other eighteen-year-olds do, going to prom, having sex for the first time, drinking, and finding earth-shattering love unexpectedly. There are a ton of secrets Sarah is keeping from her family, friends and boyfriend. I loved the forbidden love she finds within Isaac. As I started reading, I wondered how everything would play out, since she was dating Isaacâs brother, Matt, for most of the book while flirting and sharing secret, forbidden touches with Isaac. I loved Sarah and Isaacâs relationship how he wants her to experience the world and not hinder her dreams.Without spoiling the book, I will say there is a point where I just flat out cried for the rest of the entire book on. I honestly didnât see this turn of events and I loved it, even though I cried, and my heart broke for Sarah.I enjoyed this book so much, the plot, characters, and spice! I also loved that the chapter titles were songs that I would assume were popular in 1985 and how they tied in with the chapters.

Another winner from Jewel!
I don’t know what I can even say anymore about Jewel’s books because they are always so outstanding. I never want to put them down when I start reading. She writes the best quirky, real characters with some flaws but you always feel like you know them. Might not always make the best decisions but you can understand it. She dances on the line of right and wrong and I love that I am put into a place of feeling comfort in the uncomfortable. Sarah’s story is one of balancing the goals that you have for yourself and dealing with the goals and expectations that others have for you. We watched as she decided to take control of her life even though it led to people being hurt and disrupting her family. She is strong and resilient and I just couldn’t love her any more. Isaac was the best, genuine, honest kind of man. He made so many sacrifices for loved ones and when he finally got to take what he wanted, it was exhilarating. This will definitely be one of my favorite reads for 2024. It’s a must read.

Sunday Morning Sarah
This one really took the cake on all the things I love about that New Adult age group and romance. Sarah Jacobson is the preacher’s daughter and she is graduating from high school. On the one hand, she has certain expectations and roles to play given her upbringing. However, Sarah has completely different ideas about how she wants to live her life rather than the script handed to her. She doesn’t want to replicate her parents. Her true passion is music. She wants to sing and play in front of an audience, but if it’s not for the Sunday crowd, her parents are not particularly supportive. And then there’s Isaac Cory, her boyfriend Matt’s older brother, who works on the ranch after being away in the army for several years. The chemistry and dialogue between Isaac and Sarah is top notch, I absolutely adored all of it. Sarah has an endearing vibe because she is innocent, but she’s not entirely naive even though her experiences are limited. She’s got a very curious and exploratory nature, tempered with her always needing to follow the rules and be under her parents’ watchful eye and to set an example. What I enjoyed so much about this story was the setting of pre-technology in a small town, so no cell phones or social media yet. Sarah had so many dilemmas regarding the mold she was living in and wanting to break free from that to be her own person. Not to mention the package of temptation that is Isaac and how he goads her on and gives her all of his undivided attention. Isaac knew exactly what she needed and saw her true self and wanted to give her that opportunity. Despite all of the heavy burdens and secrets that these characters had to keep, I also loved the comfort and affection that they found in each other. If you still have not picked up a book by Jewel E Ann, I don’t know what you’re waiting for, but this would be a fantastic first read, or 30th-ish like mine, but who’s counting, as her stories are always so fresh and varied from one another.
