Easton

You know what’s the worst feeling in the world? Being in love with someone since you were twelve years old, knowing they only see you as a little brother type.

Not even becoming an NHL star has made him realize I’m all grown up now.

All of that changes when I ask my brother’s best friend to ref a charity match and we spend an entire week in each other’s pocket.

Being close to him is torture, but for the first time since my adolescent crush started, I begin to feel hope. I swear Knox looks at me the same way I look at him. Or so I think. When I throw myself at him and get utterly rejected, I never want to see him again.

Yet, shaking him is impossible, because he and Connor are always around, and my older brother is suffocatingly protective. Every time I look at Knox, I’m reminded of how he turned me down.

Can’t I just die of embarrassment in peace?

Knox

The Kiki brothers are legendary in the NHL world. Thick as thieves, unstoppable on the ice, and the kind of family nothing can come between. Or so I thought.

For the last ten years, I’ve successfully hidden my feelings for the middle Kiki brother. Easton is snarky, determined, and the prettiest guy I’ve met. Ever since we stumbled across each other on a gay dating app and shared our secrets, I’ve felt a connection to him that I haven’t had with anything else.

But Connor is my best friend and when it comes to his little brothers, “protective” doesn’t cover it. I’m determined to take my feelings for Easton to the grave, but after a week in close proximity to him, my willpower is ready to break.

All it takes is one charity hockey match, a drunken night out, and a forbidden kiss for me to know that Easton Kikishkin is it for me.

And unless I want to lose Connor, Easton will never be mine.

When brotherly love impacts on your relationships! Love the brothers and their bestie. Knox and Easton’s story is the long game thanks to Connor and all his protectiveness. Heartbreakingly angsty and light hearted fun fuel these two to get their act together and working towards their HEA even if they have to start with a HFN. The collective show their support as always. Love that we meet our new future pairing even though they might not know it yet.

When I started reading this, I thought it was going to be a hockey spin on the best friend’s sibling trope, which to some extent it was. But it was also based on a lot more ‘realism’ – it was about whether you have the faith in yourself to take chances; realising that love and romance take effort and work; accepting the changing roles that people have in life.I really enjoyed reading this, predominantly for Easton and Knox, but also for the progression in Connor’s character. We see him having to accept the changing roles in his brother and best friend’s lives, how his perception of himself and his role in life needs to change, and perhaps a new perspective on his past life.Knox and Easton are brilliant together – they are so obviously each other’s person that occasionally, it saddened me that Knox seemed prepared to call it quits too easily. However, the more that I read, the more I could understand why he was the way that he was. After all, hard enough to face the reality of your slight lack of talent compared to an entire family of superstars – how much harder to try to build a relationship when your entire career rests on your ability to be impartial?I loved the catch up with the Queer Collective, although I admit that I occasionally struggle to remember who everyone is, how they got together and how they relate to each other. I’m pretty sure that in a Facebook group somewhere, someone has created a kind of family tree that shows how everyone is connected so I might have to have a look at that before the next Puckboy book!Eden Finley and Saxon James are a magic combination and this book is no exception. A worthy addition to the entire series and I look forward to the next one.

I am completely obsessed with anything from Saxon James and Eden Finley but the Puckboys are my first love because it was the first series that introduced me to the Sadenverse.Forbidden Puckboy is a beautifully angsty read that delivers on every level. Easton and Knox face a series of challenges on their way to happiness, and while I wished for more scenes with them together, the struggle they endure is central to their story. Knox navigates tough decisions between his friendship with Connor, his relationship with Easton, and his career, showing real maturity and strength. Easton, while occasionally selfish, embodies the complexities of an athlete caught between personal and professional worlds. The dynamic between the referee and the hockey player, plus the irresistible brother’s best friend trope, makes for an addictive read. Easton, forever living in his older brother’s shadow, has harboured a crush on Knox since he was twelve, while Knox grapples with his attraction to Easton and the fear of jeopardising his friendship with Connor. Their chemistry is sizzling, and the constant push-and-pull kept me on the edge of my seat. The Queer Collective series continues to impress and this instalment was even more fun with all the collective guys coming together for the charity game. I’m already eager for Connor and Parker’s story. The camaraderie among the characters, the group’s unwavering support, and the swoony romance make this book a standout. It’s a hot, heart-pounding journey you won’t want to miss.Tropes:🏒 Hockey Player MMC⏱️ Referee MMC🖤 Brother’s Best Friend❤️ Right Person, Wrong Time🏒 Schedule Conflicts🔥 Childhood Crush⭐️ MM Romance

I have been dreaming of a ref-player book and of course it was the Sadenverse that delivered; the Sadenverse always fulfils any wish you could have😂This was wonderful. The charity game was top tier and the many cameos from previous books were all fantastic. Always love to see Ezra being Ezra. These boys were great and I enjoyed the brothers best friend trope in that it showcased more of East’s annoyance with his brothers interfering than just Knox’ feelings of not wanting to betray Connor.I can not wait for the next one! Those two are gonna be so fun.

  5. Ppppp

Love this series, love the Kiki brothers. Can’t wait for the next one! East and Knox are perfect together. Love the hits for Con’s book!

    Solid entry to the Sadenverse
Forbidden PuckboyEden Finley and Saxon James have kept the Queer Collective growing with the introduction of the Kiki brothers! This book was so fun and the pining was top notch. Easton and Knox have both had feelings for each other for a long time, but being the big brothers best friend and little brother have kept them both hiding those feelings. But when the hotshot NHL player and the upcoming referee finally give in the sparks fly!Just one more solid book to add to the ever expanding Sadenverse! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️

    The QC is growing
Puckboys Book #7If you haven’t read the previous 6 books in the series I don’t really know what you are waiting for. This one is one of my favorite tropes ever; siblings best friend. East is half of Colorado’s infamous Kiki brothers. When we last saw him and his brother Connor; East came out live during a game. What we didn’t know is all the planning, management and stress East felt prior to this moment. He’d been managed within an inch of his sanity and all he wanted was to live his truth. Except being on a team with his big brother, who takes overprotective to another level, is slowly breaking East down.East has been in love with Connor’s best friend since he was 12. Knox has been East’s idea of perfection since before he knew what that meant. The problem is, Knox will never choose East. His loyalty to Connor is unparalleled. He would never cross that line no matter how much he wants to. When Connor asks Knox to keep East in line, Knox doesn’t object because frankly he doesn’t want East with anyone else, but he also won’t claim him. Until one kiss changes everything and nothing at the same time. Can they learn to be what the other needs?? Will Knox ever take that leap and put himself first?Read on to find out.The PINING in this one is on another level. I was more annoyed at Knox than I probably had any right to be, but East deserved more and I hope we get to see more of how their relationship grows throughout the next books in the series. Plus, I can’t wait to see what other mayhem the Collective can create. For those of us who are in love with this series, it’s everything you want and more. I cannot wait for the next book in the series because it will be a hot one.

    More Puckboys!
I am always excited to go back into this universe and revisit with old friends and meet a new couple on their way to a HEA. I did enjoy the book, but this one didn’t hit as well for me as others in the series. The UST was great and the physical chemistry between them was smoking hot, but the relationship push and pull was just a bit too much for me. I never really felt like Knox was all in and his uncertainty along the way frustrated me. As did Connor and the way he treated East. I will say I did like the way the brothers communicated when they finally laid all their cards on the table and I am so intrigued by the new owner and what Connor’s future holds in the next book! This was a 3 star read for me but I’m adding a star for all the glorious scenes with the collective! They were fabulous as always. The charity game was fantastic and we got a nice scene with Foster Grant who started it all and will always hold a special place in my heart!

    Swooning
I don’t quite know how the authors always manage to make each book better than the last, but they do! I loved East and Knox. Absolutely swoon-worthy. I loved watching them transition from friends into lovers and then into so much more. Connor’s journey in this book was also fun to experience. He had quite a few big revelations throughout this book, with his brother and his friend’s help, but also off page on his own. So good. I’m thrilled the series will continue and immensely excited for who will be in the next book.

  10. Screen protector does not stay stuck to screen. Constantly lifts up on the edge.

    Puckboys
Easton deserved so much better than Knox, 100% better. Knox toyed him along the whole entire book then the last 10% he finally got his act together. & for conner? How are you this over protective brother but let your bestfriend toy him along & hurt him & not stand up for him? Between CU hockey & puck boys, this is my absolute least favorite. I was also disappointed with the charity event being only 2 chapters when it’s been talked about for so long.Let me preference this, I love love Eden Finley & Saxton James books but this one was not it. I’ve read both the CU & puck boys series a couple times because I loved it so much. But this book? I just couldn’t get past 90% of the book being Easton pining & wanting to make it work & Knox walking away every single chapter. I couldn’t get passed Easton just turning a blind eye to it either, I loved that he finally stood up for himself with both his brother & Knox but Knox should of done a lot more groveling or atleast just a little bit.

    So freaking beautiful!
I love “Middle Kiki” & Knox!!! This was such an amazing read! Eden and Saxon have once again written such an amazing book. The beginning, seeing the Collective (I will never ever get enough of these men and their shenanigans.) and everything they get up to, was truly amazing. Knox make sure Easton didn’t “hook-up” with anyone was so funny. I love seeing the brother duo. (With a mix of the third Kiki)My heart hurt for East & Knox while they figured out their relationship and how it would work. And I’m so happy they got their HEA.Easton’s birthday party 😂😂 Ezra never fails to stay my favorite Puckboy. We got little hints of what’s to come I cannot wait to see where the next puckboy 👀 takes us 😂🩷
