LENNON:

Rule number one: Committing crimes is not a group project.

Rule number two: Don’t start fights. Finish them.

Rule number three: Don’t try to hustle a hustler.

I should have walked away. I should have ignored that sweet-talking cowboy.

Good things don’t happen to people like me. Good people stay away from people like me.

But that cowboy wouldn’t leave me alone.

He should have known better. After all, if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Carson James:

Rule number one: When you’re holding a grudge, don’t think about how attractive the object of your hatred is.

Rule number two: When you do think about how attractive she is, ignore it. It’ll go away. Probably.

Rule number three: When you’re stealing a car, it helps to have the keys.

That girl was trouble. I knew it from the moment I laid eyes on her bruised knuckles in the bar.

The last thing I expected was for her to show up on the ranch and bring that trouble to my front door.

I always liked playing with fire, but apparently, so did she. Only time will tell which one of us is going to get burned.

Fire Line is the final book in the Griffith Brothers series. Get ready for a romance jam-packed with lust, heat, and danger.

Who would have thought that grumpy, taciturn CJ would have the heart of a poet?CJ and Lennon’s fire line is one all of us have to lay down at some point in our relationship. The author did a wonderful job exhibiting the struggle.

The whole story line of fire line had to be my favourite, the bonus epilogue has tears rolling down my face 🥹🥹 I wish I could read this for the first time again 🥰

CJ has always come across as grumpy throughout this series and we get to see his side of the story in this final book in the series. He has hated the changes that the necessary diversification brought to the family ranch, but has always subtly supported individual family members in their hour of need. His first meeting with Lennon leads to fireworks and his second is fiery for a different reason. Lennon has an unfortunate criminal past, but is now a sought after chef. She is spiky and strong but needs someone to love her as she is. There is suspense and lots of character development and a satisfying ending. Can’t wait for this author’s next book.

i fell so deeply in love with this family i don’t even know what to do now that it’s finished, amazing conclusion to the series, loved it all with my whole heart

How do I even put into words my love for this book?CJ Griffith is an angry cowboy with a chip on his shoulder since his peaceful and quiet ranch is now bustling with tourists and employees…he decides to get away for a night, and that’s when he meets her, Trouble.Lennon is travelling to her new job, and decides to hustle a few men out of some money. But who she never planned on was the cowboy…one night is all it could ever be.Who could have predicted that Trouble aka Lennon would be the new executive chef at the Griffith Ranch and the Cowboy aka CJ would be one of the owners…tension is an understatement.I loved how Maggie gave them their meet cute moment with a side of instant lust and then completely flipped it when they meet again. Both CJ and Lennon are just trying to navigate life and in their minds anger and resentment are the go-to emotions. But when Lennon is scared who does she turn to? CJ…and he will protect her at all costs.Their love is on an entirely different level, they are perfect for each other.

    Great ending to the trilogy!!!
This is the last book in the Griffith Brothers trilogy. Maggie Gates did an incredible job with this book! This book was easy to read. CJ and Lennon are great together!! I love a good enemies to lovers story and this was no exception! Great way to end the series!! 💙💜

    CJ and Lennon
This book kinda feels like the end of an era. I’ve been reading Maggie Gates’ books since her debut novel, which just so happens to be the original Griffith brother, and even though there were a couple series and some standalone novels in between, this just felt like the last of her original family.I loved CJ and Lennon. Their first meeting was so spicy and then the turn they took to enemies was epic. I loved their banter and their pranks. But what I loved even more was the moment it all changed.CJ had a great story arc and I was here for it. He was grumpy and unwilling to change. He took his anger out on someone who didn’t deserve it and when he realized his mistake he took action and made it right. I loved the way he won Lennon over. The flowers, his acceptance of her past, the way he slowly brought her into his family, it was perfect. But his character arc wasn’t all about the romance. It was about him accepting the new direction of the ranch and being open to more in the relationships he had with his brothers. He truly might be my new top Maggie Gates hero.I loved everything about this book. The cameos of characters from other series, the Griffith family, the romance, the humor, the emotional upheaval, it was an excellent read.

    End of an era
I’m so very sad to say goodbye to the main Griffith Brother’s crew, but I’m confident that we’ll see them again eventually. Maggie has created such a beautiful interconnecting world, and there will hopefully be glimpses of all the characters we know and love.Fire Line focuses on the last of the Griffith Brothers. CJ isn’t handling the expansion of the ranch well. Although he supports his family, it’s hard not to feel like the ranch’s growth has been at the expense of his own happiness. So now he’s giving Ray a run for his money as the grumpiest brother. Especially when the beautiful new chef shows up. His family wants him to play nice, but the woman represents everything that’s changed.Lennon is fiery, and confident, and is not going to take CJ’s sour attitude lying down. The sparks flying between these two are enough the ignite the entire ranch. The question is, will they figure out a way to coexist?I was eating up every minute between these two. Even when they’re at each other’s throats, it was so very funny. I loved the dynamic between Lennon and rest of the family. She truly was the perfect addition and fit right in. She has quite the past, and her backstory sucked me in immediately. I could not put this book down.I loved how this book made me feel so angry at CJ. He’s so attractive, but it didn’t excuse his behavior. There was a conflicting moment where I truly hated what he did and boy did this man need to grovel after that. I loved it! CJ has his very realistic flaws, and it made me appreciate all the character growth he went through. By the end, I was head over heels for this sweet man. If you haven’t picked up this series yet, start with the standalone The Stars Above Us then dive right into this incredible trilogy.

Fast paced with a lot of drama
So, the way they started the relationship was kind of hard to follow. I wasn’t exactly sure why CJ was so upset that she worked there in the beginning, and then it was like super fast paced. For such a short book though I thought it was really good. Fast paced. Lots of backstory and drama happened throughout. It was a great read!

    Holy Cow (no pun intended!)
Holy Cow (no pun intended!) I am floored by this book. Maggie’s ability to write incredibly unique and complex characters is displayed yet again in Fire Line.It is incredibly hard to create a storyline for true “enemies to lovers” in contemporary romance, and yet Maggie has executed it to perfection. Lennon and CJ were not simply annoyed by one another or prone to bickering. There was true destain for one another through the first act of the book and it was everything I needed and more.Lennon’s character was so well executed. Maggie beautifully toed the line between her lack of trust and desire for love. Lennon demanded respect and fought for herself. I loved seeing her strength contrast with her softness as she began to open up to CJ and the Griffith family.CJ was a five star cowboy boyfriend. The moment he realized his mistake in antagonizing Lennon he was all in on healing their relationship and was willing to do whatever it took to make that happen. Watching him go from hating the restaurant and everything it represented, discovering as a reader why it was so meaningful to him, and ultimately his appreciation for it was incredibly well plotted on Maggie’s part.In addition to a perfect enemies to lovers plot, the suspense aspect of this book was fantastic. The way Maggie diverted the reader to multiple suspects throughout the book was perfection. I was on the edge of my seat through this entire story.I am so sad to be leaving the Griffith Brothers’ series, however, this was the perfect ending to their family’s story. Each book was so unique in its own way. Maggie has created a truly one of a kind series highlighting six incredibly strong and memorable leads. I cannot wait to see where we will be heading next in the Maggieverse!
