I am a big fan of Kenyon’s Dark-Hunter series and all of her spin offs.When I saw her releasing a romantasy Unicorn and Dragon shifter novel I was stoked.From the first chapter, there was head hopping between the characters and it was very clunky to read.Unfortunately, for me, this book kept me at an emotional distance the entire time. The adage ‘show don’t tell’ needed to be employed during this book, since I was told absolutely everything without any of the emotional angsty these two characters went through.Kenyon’s writing style has changed over the years, and I have matured as a reader. I think we no longer mesh which is very disappointing for me.

I have enjoyed the fantastical wring of Sherrilyn and this is another excellent book. You will want to finish it rather than put it down. Each page seems to add to the story with Witt, humor, secrets or more. A good read.

I wanted to read this book because I like the author and I also love dragons and unicorns. I thought that it was interesting in this book that dragons and unicorns are bitter enemies, but yet a dragon and a unicorn are working together. I love that the dragon is a female and she caught the unicorn in a trap, and she wanted him to make her human so she could find the dragon slayer that killed her brother. Apparently dragons donât have that type of magic way the unicorns do. I did think it was interesting also that the unicorns were Shapeshifters, but the dragons were not. The unicorn was on a mission of his own when he was captured. I will definitely read the next book in the series.

This is the best book I’ve read in ages. I haven’t read any thing from Sherrilyn since I started The Dark Hunters that I started so long ago. I forgot how good she is a this. I can’t even explain how good it feels to hear her stories again. I hope its not forever for the next. I don’t know if I can handle not knowing what happens soon.
