The Death King betrayed me—so I did the same to him.

My time in Talon’s captivity has complicated my feelings. He’s more than a monster that conquered innocent people for his own means. He carries a lethal wound no one can see, a justification for his cruelty. But I have wounds too—wounds that he caused. My entire miserable existence is because of him—a cruelty he will never understand even though he should understand it most.

Inferno, the powerful red dragon that’s fused his soul with mine, and I have agreed that the Death King must be exiled. We travel north to Riviana Star, the forest home of the elves and my father’s brother, Ezra. I assumed I would be welcomed with open arms—but I’m treated with only suspicion by Queen Eldinar. She grants me asylum in her forest because I’ve agreed to be their ally against the Death King— but begrudgingly.

Even when I’m in the presence of the elves, I drown in solitude. I’m the only one of my kind besides my uncle, but his reception of me isn’t warm like I hoped. Commander Luxe takes an interest in me, but my heart still yearns for a man it should hate. And that’s when he appears—The Death King—in Riviana Star.

But not in the flesh.

The Death King is far more powerful than I ever imagined—and I’ve made him my greatest enemy.

This author is honestly so talented. I knew I would love this series and it’s been an amazing read. The storyline has been so interesting and detailed. I can’t wait for the next book!!!!

Okay, this series just got a whole lot better (which i didn’t know was possible).Continuing Talon and Calista’s story, Blood Of Dragons takes us deeper into the forest with new characters and beings, including elves, orcs and pirates.Calista finds refuge with the elves and her good, kind heart leads her to set Inferno free to find more of his kind, he vows to come back to her.Talon’s anger towards Calista is still strong but his feelings for her are stronger.I loved the included prologues of Talon’s back story, they give so much more depth to his character. That was a heartbreaking time for him but we finally learn why he wants his revenge so badly. The ending was amazing and opens up a whole new, unexpected way that this story can go. I can’t wait for the next installment, The Dragon King to see where Ms Barsetti takes us next.

It’s refreshing to read a book where the character’s personalities are always developing and not whiny.I would have liked to have read the spicy scenes were written with more spice and less useless words.

    Who knew I loved dragons!
I am loving this series! I have never been big on fantasy novels but Talon and Calista have consumed my attention. In Blood of Dragons we get a much deeper view into Talon and Calista. Talon’s back story is tragic. I can understand his deep emotional scars and his unwillingness to open up to Calista. We also get to understand the depths of Calista’s heart. Their story has taken some real twists and turns and I cannot wait for the 3rd book. It can’t come soon enough!

    awesome read!
Love her writing. So creative. I love Calista and the Talon. The dragons are awesome with great characters of their own. A must read. Can’t wait for the next book in the series!

    Need more!
Went through this too quick. I am addicted & need to read the 3rd!I love seeing new characters. Queen was not my favorite, but I can understand her wrath. Needed more Talon & Calista, but he was getting on my nerves.

    amazing
I went in blindly picking up the Death King series. WOW BOOK 2 is incredible emotional. I felt FMC AND MMC emotional drive. I couldn’t help but grab a few tissue, or more, wipe those tears I felt for FMC and then Talon for the WIN! I’m so glad he came thru for her. I can’t wait for the next one.

    Exceptional!
For me, the mixture of danger, suspense, back information, and the love scenes was a very nice balance. A very well put together story! I’m having a hard time putting it down. I would love to live in your head, Penelope Barsetti. I can’t fantom even coming up with a story! You have a true gift. Thank you.

    Talon and Calista are goal
4⭐️1.5🌶️Book 2 of Barsetti’s Death series, Blood 🩸 of Dragons 🐉. Pick up where book 1 left and we meet new characters and more world building.   Talon’s prologue was so good, it gives a look into the sequence of events to lead him to become the Death King. All that he lost and still grives.Talon and Calista are both separated by thirst for revenge and their own point of view in their end goal in this war or peace they are seeking. Calista finds refugees with the elves and her uncle guarding the entry to the afterlife and she seems to want peace away from Talon.  But they both yearn for the connection, pleasure  and comfort they found in each others arms. Evil seeks out Calista once again and Talon cannot see any hurt come to her and slays her demon and they need for each to win their own end game. And now together again they might have a chance to seek the dragons needed for Talon goals, getting closer to accomplishing.

    so dang good
I’m just so invested in this series! One of my favorite things about this book was getting to know more about Talons past. The emotions are so very high in this book and the action is so good. I love that I could feel the chemistry between Calista and Talon even when they were apart. The ending had me freaking out I so was not expecting that. And that cliffhanger…. I so can’t wait to read the next book.

    Power!
This is the second book of her Death Series. In this book you get to see Talons past and his story. It just makes you understand him and why he is the way he is. But you also get to feel ALL the love he has for Calista. The emotions are high in here as they navigate through their feelings to find their way back to each other. I just LOVE her books and how she draws you into evert character she writes. Can’t wait for the next book!
