Rafe
I really, really don’t like my neighbour.

We’ve lived next door to each other for three years, and we couldn’t be more opposite. I’m a quiet, introverted ghoul with a small friend group and a love of true crime podcasts and tabletop role-playing games. Dan Ewen a party boy with an endless string of ‘guests’ who likes to blare country music all night. He’s loud, inconsiderate, messy, loud, a total dudebro… did I mention loud?

And when I start my new job as IT manager at Goliaths of Wrestling, an underground supernatural wrestling organisation, I quickly discover that my terrible dullahan neighbour is now my new colleague. Great.

I still don’t like him. It doesn’t change anything. I can avoid him at work. But when I spot him one night through his living room window doing something that is utterly shocking, obscene, really weird… I find myself thinking about my annoying neighbour. A lot.

All the time, actually.

Oh no.

Dan
That neighbour of mine is a cute, surly ghoul whose pretty green eyes and angry scowl just make me want to rile him up even more.

We’ve never really been buddies, despite living side by side for three years. But when he starts working at Goliaths as our IT manager, helping to bring us into a new digital age, our lives begin to become a bit more entangled.

Mainly because he starts watching me each night while I… relax. So I make sure to give him a good show through my living room window.

I’ve always assumed Rafe Hare is straight, but it quickly becomes clear that I might be wrong. And when I propose a fantastic new way for us to get… ahem… friendlier, he’s as all-in as I am.

Which means I get to show him just how weird it can get with a dullahan. And I can’t wait.

Every time I read a Lily Mayne book I think that it is even better than the previous one. I don’t know how Lily does it but this book is so good. This is Rafe (the new IT guy) and Dan’s (the headless wrestler) story. Lots of fun, sexy times and falling in love. Frank n Beans are just crazy in this. Highly recommend. HEA. Can’t wait for the next one.

  2. Amazon Customer

Lily Mayne just seems to put so much imagination into her books. I genuinely laughed out loud I cannot wait for the next one.

I love all of Lily Mayne’s writing, but I think this book is her funniest so far. I laughed out loud so many times reading this, and then the sweetness between Dan and Rafe, once they got there, was so cute and of course hot 🥵Another amazing book from Lily and I can’t wait for book 4!

Let me just preface this with: whatever you THINK our resident Dullahan got caught doing… you’re correct 😏But anyway, this series keeps getting better and better. The recurring characters are so fun – Corey is starting to grow on me even though I found him a bit much in the first book, and Kit is FOREVER my precious baby. Seeing Taylor and Holt, and Larkin and Seb together is also so cute. Lily can we get side stories for them???(Side note: Frank and Beans are going to end up in my nightmares for sure. Literal insanity)Anyway, please read this if you are looking for:- (one-sided) hate to love- oblivious himbo puppy & oblivious black cat- dullahan shenanigans 😉- a peeping neighbour- delicious sexual tension- kinda slow burnHonourable mentions for:- the horror that is Frank and Beans (and them finally getting their comeuppance, YES)- dnd but its humans- latexAlso, I’m like salivating for the next book??? It seems like it’ll be a proper hatexhate between Crossbody and Vince and I’m soo keen to see how it plays out.

I stayed up all night and early morning to read this. This was such an anticipated read and it was worth it.Lily Maynes books are exceptional. I’ve read everything she’s done and have not found one I have not loved. This book was absolutely hilarious. The pumpkin scene, the Frank & Beans subplot. The scene at their house had me in tears and reaching for my inhaler.Absolutely adored it. Thanks for sharing your talent with us Lily 🩷 cannot wait for Vince and Crossbodys book….all that tension!

I’m in love with Rafe! He’s the cutest little prickly pear! I’ll admit I wasn’t in the mood for cute but Lily always wins me over. Dan & Rafe were perfection together, all the grumpy/sunshine goodness & so many laugh out loud moments. The Jack-o’-lantern & frank n beans covert mission is all I’ll say. I’m really looking forward to the next and because I can’t resist an opportunity to beg Lily for Marikhai’s book (Monstrous series) I have to say I’m desperately hoping that’s upcoming too.

Grumpy/Sunshine with a horrifying Frank and Beans subplot
I don’t know what else I can say about this series except I love it. They’re ridiculous and so so funny. I’ve literally cried laughing reading every one of them. They’re an instant mood boost. The spice is top notch and Rafe and Dan are two idiots who stumble their way into a relationship. I can’t wait for the next book.

  8. Jessica Jarrell

    obsessed with this series!
I couldn’t read this fast enough! This pairing was so precious and funny! Another masterpiece by Lily Mayne! Can’t wait for the next one!

  9. Brittany

    Hilariously entertaining and well written
I love this series! The main relationship is well written. The dynamics between them are interesting and well developed. The world building for both the setting and Goliaths’ business deepen the story. The use of the full cast of characters makes the story so funny but builds of the two prior books so well. Love every character.

    Neighbors with benefits!
I truly have no idea where to start with this review. I want to preface that I read this book as quickly as I could. It consumed me. It’s another long one, but I had to know where the story went.Cheap Heat starts off as the story of a f-boy and the prickliest hero to ever prickle and they become neighbors with benefits. These guys needed to communicate. The first 40% of the book is basically an anxious hero twisting real life scenarios into things that never happened (yes- that’s anxiety I’m aware) and the f boy hero who is clueless as to how he’s acting is hurting him. Around halfway I was just praying for some communication.I was honestly wondering how she could possibly make this a swoony romance? Dan is just so clueless. I am going to need to believe that Rafe is his person. AND OF COURSE SHE DID! By the end. I mean. Swoon. Their relationship was so natural and what started as neighbors with benefits turned into the sweetest friendship and feelings. The subplot with F&B was the most bonkers thing that I have ever read. But again- I had a really hard time walking away from it and had to know what came next. I also laughed A LOT. It was bonkers but hilariously so.I’m excited about the *serious* enemies to lovers that was teased. This series has been completely unique for me and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

    So Sweet!
This was so sweet and funny! At some points I was crying laughing, especially the adventure at Frank and Beans place 😂. Another amazing story by Lily Mayne! 10 out of 10 and all the stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Couldn’t put it down!!
As always Lily Mayne has released another home run. When I started this book last night I literally could not stop reading and went to bed three hours late. Each character has a distinct personality. Lily has a way of creating visuals and making it easy to laugh, cry and get angry along with her characters. I can’t wait to see Vince and Crossbody’s story!

    fabulous as always
My favorite series is back and better than ever!! Holy smokes, goliaths of wrestling is getting better with each book. It builds on the former while giving you so much epic of the new. Holt and Taylor are still hilarious, Larkin and Seb are precious, and omg Rafe my sweet baby with Dan was hilarious and perfect. I’m sooooooooo excited. Also, what the heck is Frank and Beans!!?!? I’m sort of terrified that they aren’t going to ever go away
