The High Court of the Coffee Bean returns with a battle of wills and wit as two sworn enemies find themselves facing their worst nightmare—each other.
In this “enemies-to-brothers” humorous fantasy, two dangerous fae who hate each other sign a contract to share an apartment without realizing who their new roommate will be. One is Dranian Evelry, former assassin of the Brotherhood of Assassins. The other is Luc Zelsor, a deadly nine tailed fox more powerful than nearly any fae from the Dark Corner of Ever.
With several binding rules in their roommate contract such as, “No loud noises” (which means they’ll have difficulty trying to kill each other) and “No large messes” (which means once one finds a way to kill the other, they’ll need to discreetly dispose of the body) the two enemies find themselves trapped in a close quarters situation with only one solution: to try and live together until the three-month agreement runs out, unless one of them can force the other to break the contract and be kicked out of the apartment for good by management.
Thus a battle of wills begins as two fae on opposite sides of the fairy wars try to make the living accommodations unbearable for the other.
But Dranian has another problem he must hide from his new, evil roommate. When a dangerous dreamslipper infiltrates his dreams and takes his nights hostage, memories of a girl he cared for from his childling years begin to rise to the surface; a girl he may have liked far more than he ever let on. And as pieces come together, Dranian starts to wonder if there was more to the girl he left behind than he realized.
With his nights haunted and his sleep restless, the grumpiest of the fae assassins takes grouch to a whole new level in this story about a territory battle and a weird, unlikely friendship.
Wanted: A Roommate Who Isn’t Evil is book 3 of the High Court of the Coffee Bean series, a tale that follows a band of fairy assassins who enter the human world and try to live among them, hardly blending in at all. This BookTok-inspired series is for readers who will enjoy a mashup of books like The Cruel Prince by Holly Black and the comical TV show New Girl. It’s ‘cozy with a dallop of darkness’, loaded with cookies and ice cream, and sprinkled with a few epic deathmatches.

Cunning (like a fox) and Cute
I have thoroughly enjoyed The High Court of the Coffee Bean series and this book was no different. It was a quick and enjoyable read following Dranian’s story and all the faeborn shenanigans he gets up to with his roommate leading up to Shayne’s story. I appreciate each and every one of the brothers getting their own focus so we get insight to each of their personalities. The quirky and highbrow banter was fun as always. Although I wasn’t as emotionally pulled as I was in Secretary of Doom, it was good to see why Dranian is the way he is and I had a fun time reading the debacles of human help to the fae and roommate follies. If you have enjoyed this series this far, get yourself this book and prepare for more shenanigans from the brotherhood to come!

Cozy, Quirky Fall Fantasy Read
This entire series is pure gold. Each of these books has made me laugh, yet they sneakily bring a powerful emotional depth in some way too.Humor shines through Dranian and Lucâs enemies-to-brothers story in Wanted: A Roommate Who Isnât Evil. Both come across as tough guys on the exterior, but thatâs not who they are. Not really. Watching their hearts start to shine through is such a sweet, endearing, entertaining, and wonderful adventure. Plus, we have the addition of a precious pupper, as well as glimpses into the far realm the assassins left behind.Fun, chaos, and all kinds of fairy mischief and misunderstandings continue, and I canât wait to see how they wrap up in Fake Dating a Human 101.On a personal note, one characterâs brush with panic attacks also eased my heart and made my soul feel a little bit lighter. Iâm so grateful for stories that make me fell cozy, make me laugh, and remind me that Iâm not aloneâall at the same time. This book did that for me.This was a quick, easy, fun, and soothing read, and an easy five stars too.

Cozy, clean, fast-paced, delightful read
Wanted, a Roommate who isnât Evil(By: Jennifer Kropf)âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸â¢â¢â¢Dranian Evelry is morose. His best friend is gone and he feels useless, not really knowing where he fits in anymore. With Cress and Mor preoccupied with their humans and the Fae Cafe he feels left out more than ever before. When he accidentally enters into a binding contract with his sworn enemy, he decides to take matters into his own hands, to prove to them that he is more than capable of taking care of himself. This, of course, has drastic consequences.Enter, Luc Zelsor- the deadly nine tailed fox whom everyone had thought gone for good. As these two rivals/enemies attempt to share an apartment, they do everything within their power to make life miserable for one another, hoping the other one will break the contract and get kicked out. But both fairies can be very stubborn and it takes a lot to get under their skinâ¦Once again, enter into the world of the High Court of the Coffee Bean as we learn more of both Dranian and Lucâs pasts and how theyâve become the dangerous fae they currently are now. Will the two destroy one another in their quests for vengeance? And what happened to Shayne? Will Dranian ever find out? Will Cress and Mor find out about Lucâs reappearance in time to help save Dranian? Or does he really need to be saved at all? This is the third book in Jennifer Kropfâs High Court of the Coffee Bean series and my only complaint is that the ending left me hanging! Iâm already eagerly anticipating book 4.If you enjoy reading about fae assassins, ice cream, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, enchanted coffee and pastries, dream walkers, high-stakes battles, dogs, and hilarious rivalry, then this just might be the book for you!I really loved this story! There was never a dull moment and each turn of the page kept me eagerly wondering what would happen next.I received an advanced readerâs copy of this book for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

ends on a cliffhanger
Another lovely read from Jennifer Kropf. This one is part Dranienâs story and part set-up for Shayneâs story in the next book ( almost seems like the first section of that book which was separated off into its own story). It wasnât laugh-out-loud charming like the first book in the series but it is well written and my only disappointment was its shorter length and that itâs clearly a part 1 of 2.A charming read with a hint of romance to come ( a clean read no swearing, sexual content or gratuitously described violence which makes this a perfect read for a fairy story without stress from too many heavy themes). Iâd probably round this up to 4.5 stars if I could!

Oh Dear!
Oh dear! Allow me to tell you how positively brilliant this bewitching book is! With banter, hilarity, brotherhood, formidable enemies, danger and daring peppered with memorable and heartbreaking moments, this is certain to be your next favorite book. I absolutely adored it and might have even squealed when the hardcover arrived. I might have even bounced a bit while I held it to my chest. Kate and Cress would understand… If you devour fae books like some do coffee, you’re in for quite the delicious treat. My poor heart! All of these poor guys have such tragic pasts and are complete cinnamon roll heroes. You can’t help but cheer them on whether they’re tossing food through the air or slashing weapons at their foes. They’re just that lovable.I couldn’t bear to put this down. It pained my heart to do so! I wanted to snatch these faeborn warriors from the pages and take them with me everywhere. Can you imagine the unending entertainment!? And that ending!!! I’m beaming as I eagerly await the next book because it’s going to ah-mazing!!!!
