On a very hot weekend in July 1974, hundreds of festival goers congregated in Sedalia, Missouri to listen to some of the top bands of the times. The festival was far more than the town of Sedalia had expected and everyone who was there has their own story to tell of what they experienced. We were all young and for many of us it was one of the most far-out experiences of our lives. Now, fifty years later, we are scrounging through our memories to tell the story from our point of view–the people who were there. Differing from news media reports, you’ll read all about what we saw, what we ate, where we slept, and what blew our minds.
This is our attempt to preserve the experience.

We were there!!
If you went to this festival in Sedalia, Missouri it isn’t likely you’ve forgotten about your experience. But so little has been written from the point of view of all of us who WERE there. It is really fun to read about the experiences that were had and see just what it was like. No internet, no AC, no designer clothes and sometimes no clothes at all. If you were wearing bell bottoms in the seventies, you’ll want to read this book!
