Like many things in life books can be hit and miss for many reasons.Liana did not miss. This novella has stolen my heart.The buildup is tangible, each word caressing your skin. The romance is divine, sweetly pooling and seeping into your bones. It is sensuous and devilish. I have already read twice through.â¨The story bring you into the war between angels and demons. Nephithar, the son of Sataniel himself is a warrior on the front lines. One day he sees Syrinian and his world is changed. If you enjoy mythology, sensous open door romance, innocent FMCs and obsessive MMCs, this one is for you.â¨I really enjoyed Liana’s writing style. Her extended vocabulary and varying knowledge is expressed well and doesn’t feel OTT. The detail is perfect, not too much that it’s confusing, and so lush that it is in no way lacking.The imagery was instant and all consuming. I felt like I was transported, my physical reality ceased to exist, I could not see the words on the page, I was completely enthralled.The way she has developed her characters and their world is so smooth. The development isn’t far fetched, forced or rushed. It’s just perfection.Nephithar, “Neph”, is so gorgeous. His character is well layered, understandable, the dialogue stays consistent and his development does NOT contradict his foundation â¤ï¸âð¥Syriniana, “Syrin”, is delicately portrayed in alignment with what you would expect of a 1000 year old, independent, strong, inexperienced angel. I laughed quite a few times at Neph and his internal monologue. Liana has a talent for writing her characters like genuine people and giving you physical reactions along the way. I canât even describe how much I loved this short novella. Iâve never been a romantasy girl but this author has got me hooked! It has my favourite trope enemies to lovers, and it certainly did not disappoint.The contrast between heaven and hell, angels and demons was amazing and for such a short novella packed so much spice, strong amazing characters and an amazing story to go with it. Really setting up for the rest of the series.I honestly DEVOURED this book and you beat Iâm ready for book 2 the river of fire and completely anticipating the release of the realm of shadows!Liana your writing is beautiful and totally addicting.

Why why why is this a novella and not an entire novel ?I was tempted to rate it 4.5 stars just to punish you xDI was so into it, the story was so good, Neph and Syri are so cute, I really wished to know more about them and their story.This novella is a super great start, it really makes you want to discover the universe of this series.Fan of angels and demons ? Go for it !

This was incredibly well written, especially for a novella! Amazing debut!The world building was simple but very well done. There wasn’t a moment that I felt thrown into something as I often do with prequel novella’s.The characters are interesting and have depth even though it’s a short story!We see the soft side of our Demon Nephithar but you know it’s only for his Angel Syrin. Otherwise he truly is the prins of hell.I am obsessed with Angels and Demons and Liana describes them and their world so well and believable.The slow burn was delicious and very well done. I absolutely loved our forbidden Demon/Angel duo and need more!I can’t wait to dive into the next book!

4âï¸3ð¶ï¸This was such a good novella/prequel! There was action, it was sweet and it had some spice. It was a great introduction into the world as well! It makes me very excited for The River of Fire! I hope we get to see more of Neph and Syrin though!

I am thoroughly captivated by this novella and the author behind it. The writing engaged me from the very first page, eliciting smiles throughout my reading experience. This serves as an excellent introduction and foundation for the first book. The evolving relationship between Syrin and Neph is remarkable, and I wholeheartedly support their connection. She steps far beyond her comfort zone, while he undergoes a significant transformation.

Perfect Prequel!
Stars: âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸/5Spice: ð¶ï¸ð¶ï¸/5This was my first book by Liana Valerian and I am SO glad I picked this up as my next read.The world building is absolutely phenomenal, as I felt I was immersed in the story. We are taken straight to Hell, where we are in the middle of a war between angels and demons that has been ongoing for centuries. The writing style was executed with extreme care and precision and it enhanced the story by bringing to life the dictation of beings that surpass our notions of time.Nephithar, is the demon son created by Sataniel, and he is one of Satanielâs greatest assets on the battlefield; a weapon for Hell to wield against Heaven. Nephitharâs reputation for being a brutal warrior precedes him. While in battle, Nephithar sees an angel in distress who appears out of place, as she isnât in the typical armor. Nephithar cannot take his eyes off the angel with shimmering lilac wings, and demolishes the baser demons attacking the new object of his obsession.Nephithar cannot stop thinking about the angel from the battle, and sneaks into the enemy camp in order to find her. The push-pull between Nephithar and Syriniana is enticing, the determination of Neph to build a relationship with Syrin is swoon-worthy, and when they connectâ¦that cave scene was EVERYTHING 𥵠Neph is a new book boyfriend, for sure!

This novella is a work of art. From the beautiful writing, to the amazing story contained within. I didnât know what to expect before entering this world, but Iâm so glad I decided to take a plunge into hell with Neph. The romance was steamy, yet so beautiful. I really enjoyed this novella!Heaven and Hell are at war and the demon, Nephithar, is the fiercest soldier in Hellâs army. He finds love in the most unlikely of places, the battlefield. He is instantly enamored by an Angel, his enemy. Will she risk becoming a fallen angel if Nephithar is there to catch her fall?The writing was descriptive without feeling forced or too much and my only minor complaint was that it moved a bit quickly. But itâs to be expected with a novella. I do wish it was longer, this would have made a fantastic full book!It was so well written I felt the characters emotions. There was some spice and it was well done. You could feel the vulnerability.Overall a well written and quick read with an interesting storyline. I look forward to reading the next in the series!
