Get ready to laugh out loud in the office from New York Times bestselling author Melanie Moreland – My new boss—Alexander Bane
Aptly named since he’s the bane of my existence.
Please isn’t in his vocabulary.
He grunts, growls, and demands.
If only he didn’t look so sexy when doing so.
If only his mouth weren’t so addictive when kissing mine.
He’s quickly becoming my favorite boss.
Which is wrong.
My new assistant is an unwelcomed distraction.
Snarky, witty, always smiling.
Constantly putting me in my place.
Making me second-guess my decisions.
I dislike it. Intensely.
Unless I’m kissing her.
Then Magnolia Myers becomes my favorite person.
Which I hate.
Two people working together, disliking each other.
Until they don’t.
Then the fun begins.
HR has never been so entertained.
Author’s note: For those on the lookout for a hero who’s so charming when he’s bossy that it makes you want to follow his orders just to keep him talking.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book – my first by this author. I had read an extract and thought it might be a fun read, and I was right. It had many laugh out loud moments – Magnolia had a knack for getting herself into silly situations and it was fun to see how she and Alex/Bane responded. I loved the way she could put him in his place and wasn’t afraid to stand up to him, even though he was her boss. I especially liked Alex’s growth throughout, from a grumpy man who didn’t think he needed anyone to share his life with, to a great big softy with the capacity to love and care for his Maggie.

My Favorite Boss(My Favorite Series – Book 2)By Melanie MorelandAuthor Melanie Morelandâs My Favorite Boss is one of the funniest books Iâve ever read! This authors use of humor shines through each and every page. From Magnoliaâs interview with the dreaded Alexander Bane to the big discussion Magnolia had with Baneâs mother, you will find tongue in cheek, tongue on tongue, tongueâs tangling and some of that good âole kneeslapping humour everyone needs now and again.Alexander Bane, he has his ways of doing things and he is always right, mind you he is the only one who agrees with himself. So when Magnolia Myers flew out of the elevator and fell down he had no choice but to catch her. He was organized she was a messâ¦he had rulesâ¦so did she and they didnât always agree whose rules were better. But there was something about her, something that made him smile. He could be handled, she was ready to take this bull of a man on.Magnolia was just what Bane needed, not just at work though..he needed her. He didnât know it yet, but he needed her. She was the one who opened his eyes to so many things. She needed him, she needed his strength and he always had her back. For all the comedy there will tears. Tears for the first man in Magnoliaâs lifeâ¦her father. Bane had her back when it came to her dad as well.Their chemistry was so hot I couldnât understand why the paper in the storage room didnât burn! Oh bring on the fans or turn on the A/C because âitâs getting hot in hereâThere will be snort laughs, there will be tears of laughter and there will be a ball of feline shenanigans who you will fall in love with at first mention. My Favorite Boss is on my top ten reads for 2024, five star all the way and thatâs just ââFINEâ

Absolutely Loved It!!!!!
I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun reading a book!!!! I laughed, out loud, swooned, cried, rejoiced, and laughed some more!!!Bane and Myers were everything I didn’t know I needed in my life!!! The most awesome, fun couple I’ve read!!!I love Magnolia Myers so much! She’s independent, strong, sassy, patient, funny, loving and just the best person ever! Alexander Bane is such a complicated man, or so he thinks he is. He has a HORRIBLE mother and step brother who belittle him all the time. His upbringing has turned him into an untrusting, grumpy man. At least he was until Myers literally fell into his life!!!!This book is soooooo much fun and will keep you turning pages at an alarming rate!!! You’ll LOVE IT!!!!!

My favorite boss INDEED!
This book has so much fabulous witty banter between Alexander and Magnolia that I had a hard time not laughing whenever they were interacting with one another.Magnolia is a sassy, nonsense, quick with a fantastic comeback woman and I loved everything about her. She has Alex on his toes and trying to figure which way it up from the moment they meet at her interview to be his new assistant, and that is exactly what he needed in his life. She helps to show him exactly what he has been missing.Alex is by far the grumpy boss that everyone thinks he is and he has no room for fun in or out of is work/personal life. When Magnolia comes quit literally barreling into his office he starts to show a softer side ( reluctant as he is) and finally lets himself be able to let lose and rely on someone to know what is best for him. These two were ment to be and I loved how they challenged each other throughout the whole book while also learning to let themselves be vulnerable with one another and be the support they both needed. The laughs were in abundance in this book, and the softer sweet swoon worthy moments were perfect. The HEA was don’t beautifully and very much true to these two characters and the growth they both went through. This is another fantastic book and I could not put it down!

GET READY TO LAUGH, SWOON, AND CRY!
Get ready to laugh, swoon, and even cry. This latest from Melanie will keep you engrossed in the lives of grumpy Alexander Bane and his new sassy assistant Magnolia Myers. Bane has no idea what is about to happen to his boring, mundane life when he hires Myers.Magnolia entered his life like a wrecking ball and knocked down his carefully constructed walls one by one. With the help of a tiny kitten named Hedgy, (Bane doesn’t do pets-ha ha) Myers and Bane become Alex and Magnolia. Alex, who has never had unconditional love, experiences what it is like to have someone who is always there for you. Always in your corner and who will stand up for you. He thinks he cannot love, but can only care and protect for those he feels for.Magnolia hopes that with time, he will realize he can love her. She believes he does but still carries a worry that she could be wrong. When she suffers a heartbreak and then some shattering news, she feels like her world is coming to an end. She worries about the future with Alexander. This wonderful story has a Perfect HEA and Amazing Epilogue and Outtake! A Delightful Rom-Com!
My Favorite Boss by Melanie Moreland is a delightful romantic comedy that follows the story of Mr. Alexander Bane, a demanding boss at Balanced Designs, and his assistant, Magnolia Myers. The book is filled with romantic tension, humor, and heartwarming moments that will keep you entertained from start to finish. How do you feel about reading romantic comedies? Would you rather watch the story unfold on the big screen? In My Favorite Boss, I’m drawn into the intense romantic tension between the characters. I even started picturing the actors and actresses who would play which character. Owen Wilson plays Mr. Alexander Bane, Rachel McAdams plays Magnolia Myers, and Vince Vaughn plays Sam, reminiscent of Wedding Crashers. At Balanced Designs, a dynamic landscaping architect firm, three menâBane, Anderson, and Lawsonârun the show. Mr. Bane struggles to find and keep an assistant, making him a bit of a Human Resources nightmare. But who has yet to have a boss like that? Bane makes a deal with the head of HR, Laura, to find an assistant who wouldn’t mind getting him coffee and a sandwich, who can tolerate his bad moods. Mr. Bane is waiting for his last interviewer to appear; she’s late, but when she appears, he knows she’s there because she runs right into him, knocking him over. Magnolia Myers, Maggie to her friends and family, is a hot mess; she overslept, missed the bus, and waited to cross the street; she was splashed by a car needing to change her outfit but lost her keys and waited for a friend to open her door, running to the appointment, she broke her heel. The last temp agency fired her. Maggie needs this job to pay for her father’s care. The comical nature of their first meeting sets the tone for their relationship, adding a touch of humor to the story.

Fantastic romcom.
This book is everything. Itâs funny, itâs sexy, the characters are amazing, funny and interesting. Name and Magnolia are unforgettable characters, the kind of that Iâll be thinking about for months to come. I donât need to ramble on about this book, all I can say is READ It and read it sooner rather than later. Melanie Moreland has outdone herself.
