As a fan of MrBallens Strange, Dark and Mysterious videos and podcasts, I was quick to pre order this graphic book. I found it true to MrBallens style, the artwork beautifully detailed and overall very enjoyable. Most stories I’ve already heard about but it was good to experience the stories in this format.

I’m a longstanding Mr. Ballen fan. I remember watching my first YouTube episode and becoming instantly hooked. When he announced the release of this book of course I sprinted straight to Amazon and pre-ordered my copy right away. This book is absolutely beautiful! The artwork is beyond amazing and the stories simply draw you in so intently. It’s such an immersive experience. If you grew up with Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark then you HAVE to have this in your collection (although not quite as scary). This is one of those books that you hang onto and pass down to future generations. Thank you Mr. Ballen and your team for the work that you all do! We so appreciate it! And also love the intro!! If you’re into strange, dark and mysterious please do yourself a favor and get this book.

Mr. Ballen NEVER fails! The graphic novel is amazing. And itâs bigger than I expected too! The craftsmanship is great qualityâ and you can tell a lot of time and effort was put into this. Amazing Book!
I preordered this months ago and was so excited for it to come in today! Iâve been listening to MrBallen for a few years and this book doesnât disappoint! Thereâs some familiar stories (âWhat I Saw in My Room Still Haunts Meâ !!) and some new! Even though you know the stories, seeing them visualized like this is incredible. Each story has a completely different style of drawing and color palate, changing the tone and feel for each story.Canât wait for Part 2!!

My order arrived today, and I haven’t been able to put the book down since I opened it. I love the art, I mean I will sit and look at the pictures for minutes at a time. And the way the stories are written – and the way the narration is presented in the illustrations – is just fantastic. You can almost hear him reading it to you as you go through it. And the choice of stories is excellent too.This would make a fantastic gift, it’s a fantastic item for anyone who enjoys “the strange dark and mysterious presented in graphic novel story format”, too.
