The final installment in the Forty Proof Series is HERE. The story is broken into two POV’s, Crash and Bree, as they fight their way to one another.

Crash:

I had her in my arms, only to lose her moments later. Frantic doesn’t even begin to describe my state of mind as I search for Bree.

That search takes me deep into my past and to a family home that I swore I would never return to.

To find Bree, I must face a queen I defied and a monster that wants my soul. All while being heckled by a demon-infested blade.

Goddess help me succeed.

Breena:

Being abducted by a woman who is supposed to be dead, and weirdly looks a heck of a lot like me, is disturbing. Being told my death is needed to complete a wicked spell and that I’ll be turned into a vampire? Even more disturbing.

I can’t reach Crash or my friends. I have no idea where I am. My only ally? Alan. My ex-husband. Yup, you read that right,

The path to the end of my story is shadowed in fog, danger, and mystery, but I begin to see through it as the players and truth emerge. And that sight shows me that the sliver of hope is worth hanging onto, that my friends are with me even when I cannot see them, and that a future free of those who mean us harm is possible.

Even if it costs me more than I ever planned on paying.

BUT, u could continue and let us know if Crash now has to be a king or not.So much action, heart break and tears. Big sacrifices made. But I got to say the first part of the story wanted me to put the book away.Too much moaning. But, a really great series.

I loved this series so much! Over 40’s main female character is hilarious and real and just kick ass. Personally I would have loved a little more spice hehe but the story did not lack because of the amount it had. I loved all of the characters and could literally just keep reading the adventures book after book.

Oh my dayz, it’s over! 😭 But what a way to end this fabulous series 😁 the excitement and action keeps rolling as everything comes together to tie in all 8 – plus novella – previous books and tie up all the loose ends. As there has been along the way, there are tears and laughter – Nancy was a fave for funny one liners thrown in! 🗡️👀 – loss and redemption, but above all love, of friends that are found family and of soul love 💖 And ohhh Robert! Ohhh Alan! 😁😁 I’ve loved this series and the fabulous Bree from the start and I love it at the end 💖If you’ve not read this series, I highly recommend you do 😁 Brilliant 👏🏼💖

Midlife Vampire Hunter is the last book in the Forty Proof Series and what a fantastic way to end an amazing series! We are drawn back into Bree and Crash’s journey and what an adventure it is! It’s everything you want in a story and you won’t be able to put it down.In this book you get more of the characters that you loved or hated from previous books in the series. Which helps tie up all those little loose ends and make’s the finale of the series all that it should be.So get the book, you will most definitely not be disappointed and if you haven’t started the series then what are you waiting for?Who can resist anything written by Shannon Mayer!Happy reading!

Love this series, and sad to see it coming to conclusion.
As always Shannon Mayer, hits this ride out of the ball park. While I am truley sad to see this series come to a close, as I love all the characters in this series. From the main to the supporting. This series has been an amazing roller-coaster ride. The ups and downs of the two leading characters Breena and Crash, was so amazing. And this trip into there world was poetic. Will he save her, or will she die for a cause. The ride to the conclusion is filled with fast paced action, laughs, cries and yes some screaming. It is faced paced, and painstakingly overwhelming with fun antics, and adventures. The conclusion will still leave you wishing for more of all the players as they have become like family. Hopefully will get some spinoff. Looking forward for what’s next in Shannon Mayers worlds. She truly keeps you on the edge of your seat.

    Excellent grand finale!
The Forty Proof series has been a joy in my life since 2021 and I will miss the anticipation of a new book being published (finally, lol). I usually read each new installment as quickly as possible. But, since this is the last of an awesome series I made myself put down the Kindle just to stretch out my enjoyment. Shannon Mayer did an amazing job with the entire series and even though I’ll miss it she has kindly written other books so I have something special to look forward to.Kindle Unlimited

    Suspenseful, funny and sexy
I had to go back two books to read what the heck was going on. I’m glad I did! This is a great series! I highly recommend to anyone who loves ghosts, witches, vampires and the Fae! This series has it all. Especially with a kick ass “older” woman!!

Excellent Book! So many plot twists and turns! Bree isn’t sure who she can trust and who she can’t throughout this whole book. Made for fast paced, action packed reading! Enjoy!

    Phenomenal!
Wow! What a ride. It’s bittersweet to be at the end of the series. But this is the perfect ending. This book was filled with all the best of what we have come to love about Bree and the gang. Everything that she’s learned and gone through has been leading to this. The story is filled with action, mystery, frightening monsters, and an abundance of love. It was pretty perfect. This was a great cast and storyline. I will miss the world of Breena O’Rylee, Gaurdian and Sentinel of Savannah. Maybe if you look just so, you can catch a glimpse of her and her friends chasing some Shadow creatures around Savannah. You can also catch a glimpse of her in your reflection. Once you realize that you’re never too old to be the hero of your own story. Just keep the Advil handy.

At the end, you will want more. This is a fantastic read!
First let me start by saying I have loved each and every book in this series. Bree and Crash, Eric, Suzy, Feish, Gran and Robert each character is so well written. The world building is fantastic, the story line grabs you from the first page and just pulls you in and has you unwilling to put this book down. This is supposed to be the last book in this series, but some how I am hoping that it will not be or perhaps there will be a spinoff series for some of the other characters.Remy is the bad guy you love to hate. Evangeline made for a truly wonderful antagonist. Her story line is tragic.Robert everyone needs a friend like Robert. I would love for him to have his own book or series. He is the one that tugs at your heart and makes you laugh and cry.Bree has been through so much and her heart is so pure, I love the strength she has and the fact that she can stand on her own, and will always stand for others. She is strong with a soft heart. And her ex Alan, I think it is nice that he finally got it, in the end, he finally sees her for the gift that she was.In this book the surprises do not stop, just like the other books in the series. This author is a master at keeping her reader engaged throughout the book. I often catch myself saying things out loud when I am reading. I laugh, I cry, I curse and in the end I cheer and want more. That to me is the mark of a great author. You can read just this book, but, I strongly suggest you start with the first one and take this journey with Bree and all of her crazy, sweet and heroic friends. You will not regret it one bit. Each book is filled with action. Each book will make you laugh and perhaps cry a bit. And in the end if you are not in love with Robert, ( my favorite) and the rest of Bree’s crew, well, I would be surprised.
