I’ve always dreamed of romance, but this wedding is strictly business.

SOFIYA

I’ve spent years hidden away to protect my father from the shame of having a defective daughter. The head of the Bratva can’t be associated with weakness—and to him, that’s all I am.

That is, until a marriage alliance gives him the opportunity to finally be rid of me.

As I head down the aisle towards my mysterious husband, I hope I’m moving towards love and freedom. But Matteo makes it clear he wants nothing to do with me.

I wish I could return his coldness, but the dangerous Don sets my body ablaze whenever he’s near.

MATTEO

My life has been defined by betrayal.

A family traitor murdered my parents, and I’ve carried their blood on my hands all these years. I learned long ago not to open my heart.

As head of the Five Families, I’ve always controlled my city, but with enemies rising up on all sides, a marriage alliance is my only way forward. Except, my bride is not what I expected—and now she’s consuming my every thought.

But when my trust is shattered again, I’ll go to any means necessary to protect the Family.

His Tesoro is a spicy, dual first-person POV Mafia Romance with an age gap, arranged marriage, disabled heroine, and jealous/possessive hero. This book is a standalone that ends in a HEA. See Author’s Note at the beginning of the book for full content warnings.

Oh how I loved these characters ❤️ the chemistry was fantastic. Matteo was amazingly written, hard yet soft to those he lovedSafiya was adorable and deserved the world and more. She was so kind despite her life, she was an angelRomeo and Angelo also made this story so much better. Their humour and sass. Angelos loyalty to Sofiya had no end and their friendship was everything. Poker nights made me laugh. How a giant guard crumbled after his “sexist” comments when the woman he needed to gaurd gave him “the look”Matteo getting jealous over desserts and his men too made me laugh. And his sister being a five star loyal sister in law too.Ahh just loved this story

This book is one of the most beautiful mafia-arranged romances ever. The story was a breakthrough during my book slump.I absolutely enjoyed reading the book; the romance and the characters were extremely interesting and captivating. I adored Matteo’s possessive nature towards Sofia.I find it intriguing that the female main character in this mafia romance is disabled. It certainly changes the dynamic and adds an interesting angle to the story.Overall, I would say this one is an excellent read. I recommend this to everyone who loves reading mafia romance, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

I don’t usually read mafia dark romance, the heroes tend to be too selfish or unempathetic for my taste and the heroines used to be something different from what I like to read. This book, however, was just like a perfect fit for my tastes. The h at the beginning is fearful and submissive but understandably so, considering her past and the environment she lives in. The hero was cold at first but the relationship evolved in a way that felt natural to me and I liked that he was never really sadistic or cruel on purpose. Matteo was a bit clueless at first but otherwise I liked him a lot. The secondary characters were so well written that I enjoyed them when they appeared on the scene and they made me laugh more than once. I enjoyed this book so much that it will surely become one of my comfort reads.

I have read a lot of Mafia romances. A LOT. And this one has everything you’re looking for. Slow Brewing romance, action, protective hero, strong heroine, excellent side characters, just enough violence to not be gory, backstory and HEA. Absolutely love that they took a disabled female and made her look exactly what she is…HUMAN. and the fact that he is more than attentive at looking into a better life style for her and how to meet her disability where she’s at makes this more realistic from a human perspective. Absolutely two thumbs up. A must read for all Mafia romance lovers everywhere. A++

    Really Good Until The End
I really enjoyed the majority of the book. However, after how the MMC treated the Sofiya, they skipped ahead 3 months and showed no groveling. I wish the book had been longer if it meant that we could see their relationship mend. The ending felt cheap because I still didn’t forgive Matteo for what he did to Sofiya. All of a sudden they were great again. It made it feel like a cheap ending.

    Literally just get it.
I was on the fence. Had it in my TBR a while. Finally got it in a whim.COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN MY DUDES AND DUDETTES. The spice was spicin and the love that grew was absolutely sweet as pie. The banter was on point! It flowed so well and the emotions were real and raw and what happens to her will literally gut you but the ending is so so so good. The sweaters were so funny omg. IYKYK.GET. THIS. BOOK.

    good read
The beginning of this book was meh but it turned up the second half. Didn’t see the plot twist coming. Who was behind it didn’t surprise me but the actual setup did. Then there was a double whammy. The drama and action saved this book for me. The romance was okay. Him being mad over some cookies was hilarious. The race in the hallway was also fun. The list at the end was also a nice touch.

    Matteo and Sofiya😍
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌶️🌶️🌶️I absolutely love this author’s omegaverse books under the name Emilia Emerson, so I knew I had to read her first mafia romance! It did not disappoint!Matteo, the grumpy Mafia Don decides to marry to form an alliance. It was supposed to be an arranged marriage with no feelings involved but Sofiya slowly breaks down his walls until he realizes how special his new wife is.Sofiya is a sweet, beautiful woman who struggles with a chronic illness and disability. She is mostly in a wheelchair but doesn’t let her disability define her. She has a sassy side and has lots of dreams she wants to accomplish. After a rough childhood, she just wants to build a loving family of her own and enjoy her life. The love between these two is so beautiful and the spice is hot as hell! I love the disability rep and how Matteo researches ways to make sex amazing for both of them. Some of the tropes you will see in this book:🩵Arranged marriage🩵Mafia Romance🩵Grumpy/Sunshine🩵Hurt/Comfort🩵Found Family🩵Age GapI highly recommend this amazing book and cannot wait until the next one in this series comes out! If you haven’t read this author’s omegaverse books, go check them out now! You won’t regret it🩵

    Entertaining
I’d consider this to be more of an “entertaining” mafia romance than a “good” one, but there are a few things that earn it 4 stars from me. First and foremost, I loved the fact that our heroine uses a wheelchair, and that there was consistent, quality representation throughout – including in the bedroom. Not only does our antihero research different ways to make sex work for them as a couple, but he’s not afraid to get a little k!nky with his new wife. The spice wasn’t always my style, but I loved that it was there. I also loved how soft and tender the big, bad mafia boss gets with his girl. He falls for her fast and hard, which was pretty swoony. The instalove was a bit much, but I liked that the romance was front and center. The story gets kinda cheesy and predictable here and there, and I wasn’t sold on the age/experience gap, but this was pretty solid for the author’s first foray into mafia. The story follows Matteo (38), a ruthless mafia boss who agrees to get married to secure an alliance. He sees a photo of his bride ahead of time, but doesn’t meet her until she comes down the aisle… in a wheelchair. Nothing could’ve prepared Matteo for the way Sofiya (21) would change his life. Though showing emotion has always felt like revealing a weakness, Sofiya brings a lightness to Matteo’s dark life. She brings out a protective side of him, which makes Matteo desperate to care for his girl. Though she may seem young and naive on the surface, there’s a strength in Sofiya that draws Matteo even closer. As the newlyweds get to know each other better, it’s impossible for Matteo to stay away.I love bingeing mafia romances between more emotional reads, because they’re almost always entertaining, even if some are not particularly good. There’s a decent amount of this that’s not great, mostly revolving around the mafia elements (Matteo is way too much of a pushover for a mafia man, the suspense was predictable, some of the spice was meh, and the trauma they endure was glossed over), but it does a few special things very well. It’s the author’s first time writing mafia, so I’m excited to see how her work grows from here. Part of me wants to rate this as 3 stars, but I adored the representation of Ehlers-Danlos in a romance. Sofiya’s body works differently than most, and that element was handled with care. Matteo’s caretaking brings out the softer side of him too, which was probably the best part of the book for me. I was able to overlook some of the weaker elements because of the great parts, so it was a (mostly) entertaining read for me.

    Sweet and absolutely perfect!
This book was so precious. The disability rep was wonderfully done and the characters and their world were deep and rich and fantastic. Sofiya and Matteo were amazing. Their love was beautiful and the spice was spicing. It was refreshing to see consideration for a disability on page especially during the spicy scenes. There’s so much to love about this book. There’s overcoming trauma, found family, a sweet but also completely badass FMC, a possessive/obsessive MMC, suspense, drama and ultimately a beautiful love story. Will definitely be reading more from this author!
