An epic Norse retelling for fans of Bernard Cornwell and David Gemmell.
Starkad knew those days were over. The gods, whether old or new, cared not for the plight of the people. The age of gods was over. Perhaps it was now the age of heroes, or maybe the end of everything was on the horizon.
Starkad did not know the answer. All he knew was that cold steel now ruled. If the gods had abandoned him, then he would make his own way.
The north has descended into darkness. Abandoned by the empire. Deserted by the old gods. Left to fend for themselves. The Kingdom of Asgard is a light in the darkness, a beacon of civilization in a dying land. A place of heroes.
But war is coming…
Driven by prophecy, Odin, king of Asgard searches tirelessly for a hero who can stop the coming destruction.
The Aesir Saga is a gritty reimagining of Viking age myth told through the eyes of three young warriors destined to become Heroes of Valhalla.

An expansive, immersive epic story. What really elevates the material is the compelling characterization. The people feel real, with real thoughts and unique points of view. Gives the reader a lot to wonder at, great stuff.

Astonishing and wonderful read
I love stories with extensive character development, especially when seen through their lens. I haven’t travelled down the Norse path since an assassins creed game played a few years back and this book brought me back! The ups and downs seen through the prism of men trying to become soldiers in Odin’s army was fascinating.Great read, can’t applaud the author enough on his take of this journey.

Compelling Retelling
Iâve read quite a few retellings, but I found this book really refreshing! Clever to take myths & legends and make it more realistic. It feels like every new book that is released focuses on dragons and magic, so itâs refreshing to have a novel that is different and goes against the grain a bit.But donât be mistaken. The myths may be more realistic, but that doesnât mean the story or characters lacked. The different characters and their perspectives wove the story together really well and very compellingly! As someone who isnât super well versed in Norse mythology I found the story very easy to follow. So while I think some background knowledge may be helpful. It isnât necessary.Would highly recommend!

A gritty, Norse adventure!
Heroes of Valhalla by C.K. Kesterson is a gritty, Norse adventure that captures the Viking spirit with vivid storytelling. Wes Malik’s narration brings the world of Asgard and its heroes to life, making every moment feel epic. âThe gods, whether old or new, cared not for the plight of the peopleâ sets the perfect tone for this gripping saga of prophecy, war, and the fight for survival.

Fantastic Book!
Love reading Heroâs of Vahalla! The author does a great job of connecting us to the Viking culture of the time. Iâve never read anything like this before where the âgodsâ are mortals and not deity. Itâs truly one of a kind and I canât put it down. I canât wait for more from this author.
