I’m just a girl. And it turns out, I’m Hercules.
I’m struggling to survive in a Titan infested world where Spartans, immortals from twelve royal families who have god-like powers and obscene wealth, rule over all. A shy-stammering foster child with nothing, I keep my head down, cover my scars, and focus on excelling in school. At least, I try to. Then it happens.
My blood test reveals I’m part of the powerful elite. I’m one of them. A Spartan.
Forced to attend the Spartan War Academy, I undergo the most harrowing test of all time to see if I have what it takes to be an immortal. There’s just a few problems. Achilles and Patro are my scary mentors. Kharon, the ferryman of death, and Augustus, the son of war, are my terrifying professors. Also, I’m pretty sure either someone’s stalking me everywhere I go, or my sanity’s slipping––I have a bad feeling both are true.
I’m surrounded by Villains and they’re smothering me with their hate, obsession, and dark possessiveness. Too bad for them, they have no clue just who they’re messing with.

Once again, Our queen has done it. I absolutely adore her works, and Blood of Hercules is no exception. I was so excited for this release, and it did not disappoint. I devoured it so quickly that Iâm sad itâs over, but it was just that good. My maladaptive daydreams were being fed. Iâm already looking forward to Bonds of Hercules with so much anticipation. I really hope Alexis stresses the men out in the next one though (I have a thing with grovelling men) I love Jasmine Mas’s books, and I love Jasmine Mas. And just so you know, Jasmine, if an titan apocalypse ever where to happen, I will protect you (I wouldnt last an hour)

I have read the other series (Psycho Academy, Psycho Shfiters) and I absolutely loved them, so I was very excited for Blood of Hercules. I had high expectations and they were definitely met. Like in the other books, the protagonist is hilarious and her interactions with the other characters make the story very enjoyable. However, do not mistake this book for a simple vanilla romance book. There is a lot of trauma that the protagonist has to deal with. Some parts will make you laugh at first, but it is deeper than it seems. I like that the author is not afraid of creating protagonists that are ‘imperfect’, just as in the other books. The romance here is very complicated and I bet it is going to get even more tangled in the next book.It is not super spicy in my opinion (there are a few scenes) but honestly the story is just so interesting that even if it did not have any spiciness you would still be obsessed.I loved Blood of Hercules and if you are also into ‘dark romance’ you should read it too.
Nurilicious –
Was a really fantastic read! Had the same “issue” as some of the other readers, I could NOT let go of my kindle. Especially towards the end, it was very thrilling and intense. Some of the “conflict” scenes were also quite good, heart-pounding-in-chest-wise…LOVED the MC female lead and her inner monologues and thoughts. Quite relatable. The Book also comprises a lot of abuse topics and how to cope with it (more or less). Which was tough sometimes, if you are empathetic towards fictional characters, but still did not diminish my fun with the story as a whole. â¥Now I don’t know how to wait until march to read the second book! qwqI recommend to read the extra chapter too, that is linked in the back of the book – for a bit of a chuckle and some more insight.

Jasmine se superou mais uma vez. Estou doida para saber mais sobre a história da Alexis!! Eu já era fã de psycho shifters e agora temos que esperar pelos próximos livros dessa nova série maravilhosa!

why isnât the second book out yet!!
I was in a book slump⦠nothing was cutting it for me. This book kept popping up on my suggested books list and I kept putting it off as probably just another Greek god retelling. I was WRONG. This book has fantastic character development, is written well, made me chuckle out loud more than once and honestly was riveting. I couldnât put it down. I love Alexisâ strength throughout, and we canât forget her morally grey mostly anti-heroâs. This book was a total 5 for me. I am only disappointed I have to wait till March for Bonds of Hercules!

Quick paced and detailed.
The first couple chapters are confusing if you are expecting the FML POV but if you aren’t. You realized just how unique the opening is. It gives you the world building without the unnecessary fuss of interrupting the story. The female lead is quirky. Her inner monologue (mental berating) is hilarious. She is a breath of fresh air. Where most try to write a funny yet heartbreakingly weak female lead and fail, Jasmine Mas balanced human frailty with strength born from trauma beautifully. The parts in the academy are written in such a way that you can understand the blur, pain, and exhaustion and experience it with Alexis. There is very little spice but it’s not really needed. The story stands with its tension, secrets, and mysteries. I loved the twist on her bloodline. Hercules isn’t the Hercules you thought you knew.

Villains of Lore book 1
Book 1 of series, unfinished at this date. Fantasy, academy, gods and goddesses, magic, lost heritage, found family. Most of this book is very funny, but it has dark undercurrents. The mythological world is well presented, but I found myself tripping over my own knowledge because everything is quite different from the traditional Greek mythos. Characters named Zeus, Hades, Athena etc. all play a part but are presented in a whole new society. Spoilers follow: our heroine is raised by abusive foster parents in a dystopian world where a war between gods destroyed much of human society. After her fosters are removed she and her younger foster brother are forced to live in cardboard boxes at the rear of a trailer park. Upon taking an entry exam to an elite college, our math prodigy heroine is discovered to have the blood of the gods. Assumed to be a half human, she is required to face the crucible. This is a ridiculously barbaric academy experience that begins with a mass battle among the candidates. Her progress through this school is the main theme of book 1. Many well developed male characters plague her as she fights for survival. Her character is very funny and her thoughts are expressed to her invisible snake protector. She never tells her male companions anything and is totally misunderstood. The storyline flows well and the writing and editing are top notch. The plot is dark and no romance finds the virgin heroine in this book, but it appears to potentially be rh.

Good
Note: The book ends on a soft cliffhanger, rating fairly low on my trauma scale (3/5) because itâs more in the nature of unfinished business than a true life threatening situation. Donât worry, if youâre like me and hate epic cliffhangers, this is tolerable and worth it for the good read.Itâs a world where the immortal Spartans are revered as the Greek gods they once were, and where monstrous titans attack when they feel like it.Alexis Hert is a student trying her best to qualify for a scholarship, having grown up in an abusive home until she and her foster brother are made homeless. Thatâs why itâs such a surprise to find herself outed as an offspring of one of the gods, and forced to participate in the Crucible- a test of endurance, strength, and danger; because not all of the participants survive. This was a fantastic book, with a post-apocalyptic setting, and some intriguing characters. The title of the book is actually a bit spoiler-ish, since for much of the book Alexis truly knows nothing (except mathematics). Despite the darkness that prevails throughout the book, Alexis herself is rather amusing, her conversations with her best friend (and invisible, monster snake) Nyx had me chuckling out loud, while the sidebar remarks always made me smile. There are four male main characters, and we see a few chapters and scenes from their POV scattered through the book, and they are all morally gray in nature (I would say some more than others, but truth be told Iâm pretty sure theyâre all equal in that respect). The world itself is intriguing, and rather brutal in its setting, although we really donât learn a whole lot about it simply because our heroine is existing outside of it (deliberately). That being said, I think my favourite scene is actually the bonus one that should definitely be read after the book. This is an engrossing read, with a truly fascinating setting and cast, and Iâm honestly looking forward to reading the rest of Alexisâs story, and seeing where we head next on her journey. An enjoyable treat for fans of darker romantasy, morally grey heroes, and Greek myth retellings.
