This is a fine quiet novel that will disturb your emotions nonetheless.She is at a summer beach house with her kids. She tells them funny tales (I had my share of giggles on the one where she mixed all tales into one). Sometimes she hears from her husband, but you can tell they’re not in a great relationship. Does he even miss them or he just says so?Other tenants came to the beach house too. One of them is especially appealing to her. She’s starting to feel like she hasn’t felt for a long time.I like how the novel is represented as some manuscript accidentally found. It starts just like in the old times when writers used to say how they heard the story from a friend about a friend or found someone’s diary or something like that. It gives some sort of distance. But when the actual story starts, you realize how emotional all is.
