This book was full of encouragement and ideas for homeschooling families. I appreciated all the information on being intentional, slowing down, and enjoying each subject & season. I loved the seasonal poems to start each season section and the actual practical ideas for activities.

Shelby Dersa does a great job of providing seasonal ideas for your homeschool, while also laying out the basics of how to keep core subjects engaging and fun without being overcomplicated. I wish I had this book when I started this journey! My heart yearned for slowness and natural rhythm with life and schooling. Shelby helped me understand this yearning. A beautiful guide to homeschooling with intention
This book is a wonderful resource to introduce the idea of how to integrate slowness, purpose and intention into our daily lives as homeschooling families. It starts by setting the scene for why intentional slowness will always exceed the effectiveness of a rushed and pressured approach to living and learning, and challenges the reader to consider their understanding of education and its relationship to our daily lives and roles as mothers and children. It proceeds to provide many valuable ideas on how to facilitate an enriched daily living experience by creating an environment where education can naturally thrive and flourish. There are ideas of how to facilitate education in various subjects including Morning Time; Reading and Literature; Writing, Spelling & Grammar; Mathematics; Social Studies; Science; Enrichment; and Nature Studies through the seasons. There are excellent, realistic and achievable suggestions which will provide valuable guidance to both complete beginners of homeschool as well as seasoned homeschoolers looking for fresh (and cosily old) ideas. It is also applicable to all ages of children. This book has been a joy and a wonderfully enjoyable read. It has provided me with helpful perspectives and an excitement for the upcoming school year, and has provided that all-important reminder of how blessed we are to be able to provide this slow, intentional and seasonal life for our families. Just got this book today and itâs past my bedtime and Iâm still reading it! Not only am I loving the resourcefulness of it but itâs just a beautiful colored book as well!
