Nice portable charger for various electronics
I know this is meant to be used for VR headsets but I personally use it as a spare phone charger or even as a battery to power my Meshtastic handset. It’s comfortable and, even without attaching it to the belt, the form factor makes it fit well in a pocket, backpack, or whatever else. The battery does get a bit warm, but that’s to be expected. The only thing I wish is that, for the size, it was a tad higher capacity.

A Must-Have Battery Pack for Extended VR Playtime
Iâm really impressed with the HATALKIN 10,000mAh battery pack! Itâs designed to be worn around your waist or over your shoulder, which is such a smart idea. It eliminates the extra weight on your headset, making longer VR sessions much more comfortable. I prefer wearing it like a beauty pageant sash, as it makes accessing the connections super easy, and it’s simple to take on and off.The battery provides plenty of extra playtime for my Quest 2, especially for games like Asgard’s Wrath 2 or Dungeons of Eternity. It keeps my headset powered for significantly longer than my previous setups. Whatâs really cool is that it can charge the headset while charging itself, and it does this pretty quickly. I havenât timed it, but the charge time seems to be almost cut in half.Installation was straightforward, though I had to figure out how to position the Velcro strap correctly. Once itâs set up, you just plug it in, turn it on, and youâre good to go. The pack automatically turns off when the headset isnât drawing power, which is a nice touch.The only downside is the wire that runs from the headset to your body, but itâs a small trade-off for not having the extra weight on your head. Itâs also worth mentioning that sometimes the Quest headset might show a USB port error, but this seems to be a known issue with the Quest, not the battery pack.Overall, this battery pack is a game-changer for anyone who plays VR regularly. Itâs comfortable, easy to use, and extends your playtime without any fuss. Highly recommended!

A must have if you play games in a group
Right on, well… I am very pleased so far, with this HATALKIN 10000mAh battery pack. In my opinion, it is a “must have” if you play games in a group or online with friends. The added playtime, and the ease that it is to use during gameplay is better than anything else that I have used. (I have tried headset strap type batteries and other power banks similar to this one but with the HATALKIN power bank having its own strap makes this much easier to use) When passing it around in a group its easier to just hand them the battery, let them decide to strap it on or toss it over the shoulder, then get them going with the goggles… and in either case (group or online) I don’t need a long cord on the ground to trip over, tangle or kick across the room just in the name of longer play time.I haven’t needed a 2nd power pack yet, (I do not have a huge group during group-play right now) but I will have no problems getting another one of these HATALKIN brand when that time comes.I thought about trying another head strap variety that had a longer battery life, but I am using this with a Quest 2 right now, and I know this will pass onto using it with the Q3 or Q4 when that time comes and I know it will be compatible when I do. (A head strap type is mostly Quest “version” specific)So far this one has had no troubles keeping the headset powered up while playing Asgard’s wrath 2. or Dungeons of eternity. (My Q2 headset battery, and the head strap battery combo falls off rather quickly @ just over 2 hours with Asgard’s wrath and I barely, and sometimes don’t, get 3 hours with Dungeons of eternity.)I like that it has the ability to charge the headset while getting itself charged up and it seems to do both at a good fast charge. I haven’t timed it but it seems to have cut the charge time almost in half. (based on charging one then the other. If not half, it was a significant reduction anyway. And of course that will also depend on the amount the battery pack and headset has been discharged)

The simpliest way to add up time to a VR headset
This battery is made in a flat-ish configuration to spread out the weight to make it more easily worn on around the waist.It can also be worn like a beauty pageant sash if you prefer. I prefer it this way because it gives me easier access to the connections and it is easier to take it on and off this way.By putting the battery on your waist or over your shoulder instead of on the headset/strap you eliminate the extra weight being supported by your head. This can mean longer, more comfortable sessions. The only more simple way of externally powering an untethered VR headset would be to get any USB battery and slip it into a pocket. That also works, but this strap is arguably more convenient and comfortable.The only downside compared to the battery on headset approach is that there is a wire running from the headset to your waist, back, or chest (depending on how you wear it) that you have to route so that it does not interfere with your hand movements while playing.The quality impression I have of the battery strap is appropriate for the price point. To use it, you first have to install the velcro strap which is a tight fit, and there are no instructions as to which side should be up. You can figure this out by looking at the buckle and making sure that the release for it will face out when the battery on button and LED charge lights face out.Plug it in, turn it on, and go.It seems to automatically turn itself off when there is no drain detected (which most batteries do). This may mean that it turns off if the headset goes into sleep mode or doesn’t otherwise draw power for some reason. If that happens you need to reach down and turn it back on.Also, my Quest 3 (and 2) sometimes give a USB port error, not just with this battery but with any charger or battery where the programmers got “clever” and decided to infer that a port is dirty or wet based on charge rate. This is annoying and is a known issue. It’s not the fault of the battery. Meta just needs to add an option for users to toggle this off in settings.Note that the lights on the battery are white even though they look light blue in my photo.
