THE ONE. THE ONLY. THE CLASSIC.

On a black and unholy Halloween night years ago, little Michael Myers brutally slaughtered his sister in cold blood. For the last fifteen years, the people of Haddonfield have rested easily, knowing that Michael was safely locked away in a mental hospital … until tonight. I can’t wait for Halloween 2 to arrive I hope it’s restoration is as super awesome as this one. I heard a couple of people say the 4K version looked a little grainy, it’s not, it’s actually the original film stock, as the restoration doesnt blur it, im sure it’s more tech than that but just my two cents.

Ordered on September 27 and arrived today 6th October here in the UK. Looking at some of the recent reviews I was a little unhappy knowing I was likely to get a flimsy slip cover. Which matters to us who like to collect physical media. Well it seems I got a hard cover copy! Tracking well a little off. Stated it was coming with DPD, but code did not work properly. Today, I got an email off Evri saying they would deliver. Fine by me then DPD arrive with the DVD. Either way it arrived safely in the standard Amazon style packaging. My only concern was the DVD’s inside were loose. Luckily no damage and the 4K plays fine.I won’t comment on the movie or picture quality as there on plenty of people on YouTube who are more well versed to tell you all you need to know. DVD and cover have no damage.A must have for any horror fan. Note, the 4k will work on all 4K players but the blu ray discs included are region A locked and will not work unless you have a multi-region player.

    Halloween 4K Review
Scream Factory did a killer job with this transfer, looks great. With that being said, I wish it came with the cardboard slipcover like it says.

1978 classic on 4K Ultra HD
I’m glad to own this classic horror film in the popular Halloween franchise. The 4K quality looks fantastic. The jump from DVD to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray was well worth it.

Incredibly better picture than the original 4K Release
I’m a huge fan of Halloween as I grew up with the originals and seeing the original in this amazing upgraded picture reminded me of why I fell in love with this horror movie. The colors pop especially well for a film released in the 70s and even holds up against time. I was noticing detail in plants and trees I never noticed before. Not to mention the color differences in buildings that just added character to the town of Haddonfield. Yeah it’s not crucial, but it’s most definitely the best way to watch this classic horror film. The background actors/actresses are no longer blurred slightly and are visibly noticeable to where each face has just as much clarity as the main characters. Now the audio is INSANE. The Dolby Atmos track provided a new level of immersion for me that I was actually jumping during scares I have seen before over a couple dozen times. The low-end (Under 100 hrs) has so much added detail that it makes you FEEL the tension when Michael appears on screen for a kill. The famous ‘knife in the wall’ scene still gets me with this new audio treat. Just do yourself a favor and watch this movie at moderate volume levels as this is an older film that begs to be listened to at a higher level for scares. So happy with this purchase and the man behind this remaster has earned my trust. Stoked to get the sequels soon and I really hope they do a 6) Curse – 8) Resurrection restoration as well. I don’t expect the Rob Zombie films to be restored by him, but I’ll take the Original 8 any day. : )Highly recommended!!

    It’s a horror classic!
Definitely one of the best horror films or even films of all time.Incredibly suspenseful, nothing even happens till Halloween night and you’re still on edge the entire time. The only sequel that ever felt like a good follow up to the original was Halloween 2 but even the plot revelation that Michael was related to Laurie felt rushed. It’s not a bad reveal, it’s certainly not as cliche as some make it out to be either. I do feel like they never reached the heights of this one however.Halloween didn’t need excessive gore or a larger plot about taking Michael Myers down to be terrifying, it was the slow methodical approach Michael took towards the pursuit of his victims and his never ending relentless pursuit of them that made him scary. He’d play with his food or silently observe it before going into full threat mode which makes the showdown absolutely tense. Michael Myers shouldn’t be fighting mobs or partaking in cults or be overpowered by some evil teenager it’s just silly the current state of the franchise. This movie has such a simple and effective formula that can’t be replicated for some reason.I really wish people UNDERSTOOD Halloween so maybe we could have had better sequels.Definitely worth a viewing every Halloween.

    Wonderful Transfer
If you’re a fan of this horror classic and enjoy the many wonders of 4K UHD Blu-ray discs then this release is a must have addition to your collection. It’s a step up from the previous 4K release, and proves once again that Shout Factory has it’s shit together. Another stunning release from that company. Colors pop like never before, and the remastered audio made me jump more than once with its new intensity. Now, I’m not going to get into the debate regarding the differences in color timing between different versions… that’s for you to ponder for yourself if so inclined. But, it’s a moot point anyway because both versions are included in this boxed set ! That plus the TV version and countless other goodies to numerous to mention. This release is a little pricey, especially as I write this during the Halloween season, but deals can be found and I can’t recommend this set highly enough. Get it, and prepare to face the boogyman once more.
