This could be you—or your sister, mother, child, or friend.

These stories are five-alarm warnings from real women around the world who have been FRAMED. Just like you perhaps, they had no idea what happens in the gender biased family court underworld—until they found themselves in a divorce or custody fight.

Dr. Christine Cocchiola and Amy Polacko are both survivors of domestic abuse who work with family court victims daily. This exposé not only validates the experience of millions of women—but also warns about what mothers are up against in these battles, the harms inflicted on children, red flags to watch for while dating, and ways to protect yourself during marriage.

If you are female, you can’t afford not to read this book. We hope you’ll gift it to the women you care about. They’ll thank you later.

This book brings to light the critical issues that sadly so many women face in family courts worldwide. This is a must read for anyone seeking to understand the deeply flawed realities of the family court system, particularly in cases involving abusive behavior. As a mother who has personally endured years in a court battle after leaving an abusive marriage, I initially believed and had faith that the legal system would provide justice and protection. However, my experience has been far from that and I have found it to be extremely traumatic as it’s a system that often fails to recognize the manipulations of abusive parents. It has been absolutely shocking to witness judges making decisions that overlook the very abuse they are meant to address.I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the injustices within the family court system, and the urgent need for change.

Framed shines a bright light on the dark realities of domestic abuse and family court injustices
“Framed” is a must-read for anyone considering marriage, separation, divorce, cohabitating, or coparenting with a domestic abuser. This book shines a bright light on the dark realities of how abusers use the family court system to control and harm their partners and children.Until one has fallen prey to the coercive control of a narcissist, their tactics seems implausible. Victims find that escaping an abuser feels impossible. Kudos to authors Dr. Christine Cocchiola and Amy Polacko and to the brave survivors whose experiences provide learnings, lessons, and a roadmap for others to follow. Each story exposes how domestic abuse spills over from living rooms into court rooms when perpetrators are allowed to use the legal system as their playground to control others. Abusers don’t come with warning labels, but “Framed” offers a detailed playbook. I highly recommend ordering extra copies to donate to local libraries and domestic abuse shelters. Five stars!

This book highlights a real life nightmare for too many women.
I am so very grateful for this book! It highlights the never-ending nightmare that myself and so many other women have found themselves. The societal patriarchy and misogynistic views are alive and well. This book is not only validating for the victims fighting for their lives and safety of their children, but educating for those who literally cannot even imagine how horrible this journey is. Believe it. Let’s change it. I hope there is more to come after this book. Education is key to the necessary change for all of these wonderful women and children who do not deserve to be abused (primarily and secondarily!).

    Eye opening!
A MUST read for women (and men) of all ages!!!Shocking and heartbreaking- sheds much needed light on a serious problem that’s too seldom heard about. I couldn’t put the book down- well written and insightful, this book has opened my eyes to a subject I knew little about and hope to play some small part in changing. I will be sharing this with my entire family and friends!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

A must-read for those seeking understanding of coercive control
I just received this book, and have only read a portion of it. WOW! I could relate to the situation described so very well. I knew I had to get this book when I learned about the term “coercive control” and the fact that there are now laws, in at least some U.S. states, against this very insidious form of domestic abuse. I wish I’d had the knowledge of this particular term, “coercive control”, fifty years ago. It might well have prevented much trauma and loss for me, including the loss of a child, which I believe, was directly related to the toxic family environment.I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to better understand the dynamics of, and resulting damage from, coercive control. I have long believed that education about ALL forms of abuse needs to be included in the learning curriculum for young people, PRIOR to their reaching the age of dating. This information is so very valuable and may well be life-saving. Many thanks to the authors and contributors to this book!

    A Call to Action
The stories within FRAMED fuel outrage and inspiration. For to be complacent after reading this revolutionary book is to deny self-awareness and accountability. The mark of the narcissist abuser himself. We fail society by failing this vulnerable, targeted group. Please remember each one of us has had a mother…a sister… a daughter. This is not a “them” problem. This is an “us” crime being perpetrated against “them”. Thank you authors for shining a light in a dark corner we’d rather not admit is real. The time to act and demand change is now. Thank you for such a powerful read.

guidance, validation, hope, and encouragement from your family court trauma…. THIS is your Book!!
I have been waiting for this book before I even knew it existed!! My experience with the family court system flipped my world upside down . I had so much faith in the system, I actually walked into my final judgement trial, pro se😳🤷‍♀️! It was 6.5 hours of absolute trauma. I couldn’t make sense of anything and was desperate to find “the sense” , so I began searching for stories of similar experiences.During one of my searches I came across a bio of One Mom’s Battle with the family court system. As hard as her battle was , it did not break her , in fact, sharing her story has grown a community of victims who now have a space to hear and feel validation in the telling of their stories, and there is a place to go when you feel alone in the process. There is a rapidly growing awareness of the abuse and control that goes on in family court Because stories are being told. There are laws being changed, rouge judges being seen and called out, and a coming together in support of one another because stories are being shared. If you are looking for guidance, validation, hope, and encouragement from your family court trauma…. THIS is your Book!!Thank you Amy Polacko and Dr. Christine Cocchiola !!#framedbook#onemomsbattle

    An important book for everyone.
I can’t say much beyond what all the other reviews have said. This is an important read for everyone. Not just women. But at the same time, especially women. I even hesitated to take off one star, the only reason I did so is because the spine isn’t glued properly and pages are falling out. I can’t return it because I don’t want to put it down. As a survivor of the very family court system it describes, I find it compelling and validating. Would update my review to 5 stars if the seller could send me a new copy!EDITED TO ADD: Amy reached out to me personally on Facebook and is sending me another copy! Removed photo as it was not about the content but the printing error. I really appreciate the fast response and replacement.
