This gamepad has in some ways improved the official Xbox design, but it is important to know what it does not do rather than focus entirely on highlight features. So, to start with, not licensed for Xbox because Microsoft… and has no PC app for testing, configuring, or upgrading firmware. No audio jack. Also, 2.4G wireless receiver can only be connected to one controller (unlike Xbox dongle).Managing the software side of things, although completely optional, is for advanced end-users. There is a beta app download for Android, but you must get it directly from the manufacturer website. I cannot recommend installing an apk file not provided by Google Play Store. However, EasySMX does publish firmware bug fixes for install via Windows (if you read “Blog” on their website); by the way, do not install drivers they do not apply. The storefront website is missing helpful instructions, product support TIPS & FAQ, but links to other assistance (email, WhatsAPP, and Facebook). The manual needs more clarity. For example, when it says “press down the joystick” it means click (or else pull back!) while “press up” means push forward… tripped me trying to adjust RGB. The four-bar blue LED is mode indicator not battery level, though it flashes when battery gets low — I wondered at first why it seemed not to fully charge 100%.Otherwise, this a brilliant controller for PC, Steam Deck, or Switch. Excellent battery, which is especially needed for RGB enabled, if that is what you want; RGB can be disabled, though does look nice. Adjustable vibration strength will help battery too. It has long lasting drift-free hall effect sensors (as advertised, I have not used it long enough to confirm durability), sticks with virtually no dead zone, and high all-round responsiveness. The precision customizable controls are just awesome — overall I believe better than the official Xbox One Controller. Same plug & play compatibility. Even its clicky D-pad is good, maybe the only thing I would give a slight edge to Xbox, but wow I find nothing to dislike with EasySMX X20.The textured feel while holding the controller is satisfying. M1-M4 macro buttons on the back along with the feature sliders tend to distract my fingers but I will get used to that. Like the Xbox controller its size & shape is best (I think) for those with bigger hands, your mileage may vary. It weighs 226g (8oz) — 20% lighter than the Xbox One Wireless device. This is absolutely a 5-STAR product if/when EasySMX delivers friendlier support software — if you do not care you will be fine, enjoy it.At the time of my review there is a V1.13 patch (without install instructions) to address RGB settings, button programming, and calibration; I suggest ignoring unless you experience specific issues. To enter “Upgrade Mode” connect your X20 (turned off) via USB cable to the PC while pressing & holding the Left-Stick; then you can execute the firmware patch.

The Easysmx x10 has been my main controller for the switch for some time now, so I was very pleased to be given an opportunity to review the latest upgrade for it.And upgrade it indeed is. For the same price, almost everything about this controller is improved. You get a 1000hz response rate with the dongle or wired connection.RGB effects which are fairly basic, but customizable enough to do some serious work and aren’t horribly ugly in placement (like some controllers, imo)Two extra macro buttons and two extra face buttonsAnd a lock that switches your triggers from hall effect to mechanicalPlus a bunch of other small improvements.I was really impressed with everything this controller had to offer. The lights on the joysticks looks fantastic, and the two extra little bars on the grips are positioned just right for maximum visibility. I like how the lights on the XYAB buttons looks as well, being recessed and lit up to create an infinity mirror appearance looks really cool.. Though I wish this functionality extended so that you could swap the layout between XBOX and switch just via the lighting. That would be really cool- though a lot more advanced, I imagine. The face buttons are great, though I do have one little complaint about them. The top-leftmost button, the back button/- button (For switch) is a little inconveniently placed. It’s much more natural to hit the button that is positioned center left. Hitting that top button requires your thumb to sort of go over or push the joystick out of the way, which is slightly unoptimal. I’d have liked to see them stacked on top of eachother next to the home button. It would have looked worse aesthetically, but it’d work better. Still.. It’s not exactly hard to hit the button, so it’s not enough to take a star off in my opinion. The feel of the controller is fantastic. It’s grippy all over, but in a more subtle fashion than the X10 or really any controller I own with a textured handle. This feels nicer than the sometimes scratchy feel of really grippy controllers, without sacrificing it’s ability to do it’s job in a noticeable way.The joysticks and buttons all work fantastically- the buttons are all mechanical, and I’d say slightly improved over the x10. Setting macros is a lot easier as well and you are granted an extra two buttons with which to do so.. However it appears the controller needs a driver update for this to work. For me I had to install it manually, which was a bit of a hassle.. Hopefully in the future it ships with the upgrade already pre-programmed. I can’t imagine it won’t.Honestly, while there are very minor issues with this controller, there’s nothing that’s worth me not recommending it fully. It feels great in my hands, it functions on par with even my most expensive controllers, and it is cheaper than even a stock xbox controller is. It’s a great controller with a lor of care put into it. Hell, there’s a little light for the USB-C port that makes it easier to see where the plug is in the dark. I’ve never seen that on any electronic, and it goes to show the care that’s put into it.

Great performance and features for the money, but has a few issues (Detailed review)
This is a review for the new EasySMX X20 controller which boasts 1000 Hz polling rate over 2.4 GHz as well as full “Mecka-tactile buttons”.The EasySMX X20 comes in a sturdy box with a plastic insert on the inside which protects the controller. It comes with a 2.4 GHz receiver, a fairly thick 6 ft USB-A to USB-C cable and a small manual with 10 pages in English. The user manual unfortunately can not also be downloaded currently as a pdf file at the BINBOK website. There is also a driver firmware download for the controller which updates to 1.13, adds a feature to turn off the face button lights and fixes issues regarding the back buttons. It has a similar shape to a Nintendo Pro Controller but with face buttons in an Xbox layout. It weighs 7.9 ounces compared to the Nintendo Pro Controller (8.8 ounces) and the Xbox Series X/S (10.2 ounces). It has a switch on the back to switch between 3 different connection modes, 2.4 GHz receiver (wired), Bluetooth and Nintendo Switch. It also has 4 programmable macro back buttons on the back, as well as switches for the left and right triggers that switch between analog full range of motion triggers, and very short digital instant response triggers. It also has turbo, 6-axis motion controls compatible with Switch, PC, and mobile devices, and detachable joysticks which you can put back on a different way to give you a slightly higher joystick.Battery: 1000 mAh battery with a 2-3 hour recharge time.Vibration: 4 levels of vibration (30%, 50%, 70%, 100%) not including off which you can change by holding down the C (Command) button along with pushing the right joystick up or down.Sticks: No stick drift and immediately returned to center after moving them. The tops of the sticks have a nice concave to the center with rough edges that prevent your thumbs from sliding off. The sticks can be detached when put on differently can give you a slightly higher stick. The hall effect sticks are very responsive, and in the online Gamepad Tester the circularity average error rate was a perfect 0.0% on both sticks after the firmware update. Most sticks will have a circularity average error rate somewhere around 10% but budget sticks can be 20% or higher. There is debate about whether this measurement really matters since it only affects the diagonals and is only a problem if the error rate gets above 20%.PC Polling rate numbers: EasySMX X20, X15, X10 and X05All numbers below were generated using the Gamepadla v1.1.5 app.6000 tests – 3 samples with highest result shownEasySMX X20Bluetooth: 160.11 Hz avg polling rate2.4 GHz dongle: 923.08 Hz avg polling rateWired: 792.06 Hz avg polling rateEasySMX X10Bluetooth: 198.47 Hz avg polling rate2.4 GHz dongle: 225.22 Hz avg polling rateWired: 881.59 Hz avg polling rateEasySMX X15Bluetooth: 158.25 Hz avg polling rate2.4 GHz dongle: 185.43 Hz avg polling rateWired: 881.41. Hz avg polling rateEasySMX X05Bluetooth: 199.28 Hz avg polling rate2.4 GHz dongle: 223.86 Hz avg polling rateWired: 880.62 Hz avg polling ratePolling rate was similar for all controllers for Bluetooth and wired connections, while the X20 blew away the other controllers in its 2.4 GHz response. Surprisingly, the X20’s wired numbers were slightly worse than the other controllers and even worse than its own 2.4 GHz polling rateD-pad: The best d-pad of all the EasySMX controllers with tactile switches underneath like the X10, but not as stiff and more comfortable to use thanks to its recess in the center and rounded edges.Buttons: The mechanical face buttons are nice and they light up (with the firmware update you can turn only the face button lights off by using Start + D-pad right.) but they are flatter than the ones on the X10 and do not raise up as high from the shell, and I prefer the buttons on the X10. The shoulder buttons and triggers are excellent and very similar to the ones on the X10, except that the triggers on the X20 can be changed from analog triggers to a short instant digital response via switches on the back. The M1 and M2 back buttons are smaller and clickier than ones on the X10. The extra M3 and M4 buttons are a bit further in and a bit hard to reach. I would have preferred what the Binbok Pro Controller and Thunderobot G50S did by placing these extra buttons up top between the triggers.RGB Lights: Lights on the sides of the controller and around both sticks, which can be set to Breathing or Constant on by pushing C + L3 twice. Push C + L3 once to change the brightness, and C + R3 to adjust the light color.Function buttons: There is a separate turbo button as well as a special Command button in addition to the Start, Menu and Home buttons which are in your standard layout, are raised up a bit and work well.Keylinker app: (Android or IOS only – No PC version)The EasySMX X20 also works with the Keylinker app.NOTE: At first I had trouble getting this to work after downloading it from Google Play, then realized I needed to swipe over and over on the screen until I gave it every permission it needed, and then it found the Bluetooth controller connection and worked. Although the app claims it does not collect any data or share any with third parties, I did notice it likes to stay open running on your device after closing it. So I would recommend going into your settings and force closing it after each use.In the Keylinker app connect to Xpert2 after connecting the controller to Bluetooth. With the Keylinker app you can change all sorts of things including remapping various buttons or just Switch ABXY with just one button press. You can also adjust the vibration motors, adjust the range of the triggers (zero, small medium or large), and adjust the dead zone of the joysticks (zero, small, medium or large). Unfortunately, some things like testing the buttons on the controller did not seem to work.EasySMX X20 connections tested:Xbox layout: A button (right) selects, B (bottom) goes backSwitch layout: B button (bottom) selects, A (right) goes backPress Home for 5 seconds to turn off the controller.Press Home to wake controller from sleep.Switch: (Switch layout)Wired (Move back switch to NS, plug controller into Switch dock)2.4 GHz receiver (Move back switch to NS, press button on receiver until it flashes quickly, press Home button for 5 seconds)Bluetooth (Move back switch to NS, on Change Grip/Order screen press Home button for 5 seconds)PC: (Xbox layout)Wired (Move back switch to dongle position, plug controller into USB port on computer)2.4 GHz receiver (Move back switch to dongle position, press button on receiver until it flashes quickly, press Home button for 5 seconds)Bluetooth (Move back switch to Bluetooth position, hold Home button down until it flashes rapidly, connect to Xbox Wireless Controller when it appears)Android 11 tablet: (Xbox layout)Wired (Move back switch to Bluetooth position, plug controller into device)2.4 GHz receiver (Move back switch to dongle position, plug 2.4 GHz receiver into device, press button on receiver until it flashes quickly, hold Home button for 5 seconds)Bluetooth (Move back switch to Bluetooth position, hold down Home button, connect to Xbox Wireless Controller when it appears)Fire TV (Fire OS7): (Xbox layout)Wired (Move back switch to Bluetooth position, plug USB into OTG cable on stick or cube)2.4 GHz receiver (Move back switch to Bluetooth position, plug 2.4 GHz receiver into OTG cable on stick or cube, press button on receiver until it flashes quickly, hold Home button for 5 seconds)Bluetooth (Move back switch to Bluetooth position, hold Home button for 5 seconds, connect to Xbox Wireless Controller when it appears)Brook PS2 Converter (PS2 Connection) (Xbox layout)Wired (Does not work)2,4 GHz receiver (Does not work)Bluetooth (Move back switch to Bluetooth, press pairing button on front of converter, hold pairing button on front of controller down for two sec)Brook XB2 Converter (Xbox 360 Connect): (Xbox layout)Wired (Does not work)2,4 GHz receiver (Move back switch to dongle position, plug receiver into converter, plug converter into console, press button on receiver until it flashes quickly, hold Home button for 5 seconds)Bluetooth (Move back switch to Bluetooth, press pairing button on front of converter, hold pairing button on front of controller down for two sec)Pros: Hall effect sticks, mechanical buttons, excellent d-pad, adjustable stick height, 4 macro buttons, 6-axis assist on PC, RGB lights, comfortable to hold, switchable digital/analog triggers, connects to almost anything using the Brook converters for Xbox and PlayStationCons: Grips not as nice feeling as X10 and plastic overall just feels cheap, M3 and M4 buttons hard to reach, does not wake the SwitchSUMMARYThe main benefit of this controller is the 1000 Hz polling rate over 2.4 GHz with all mechanical buttons. You also can connect to the Keylinker app to adjust the dead zone of the sticks. Because of its shape it’s comfortable to hold but the grips just feel cheap compared to the X10. The d-pad is better, but the mechanical buttons also do not feel as nice and responsive as the ones on the X10, and the extra M3 and M4 buttons are in a spot where they are hard to reach. At under $50 currently with a coupon it’s certainly worth the money for its great wireless polling rate, I just wish it felt more premium and had the face buttons of the X10.

    Love it
I played with this controller last night. Super easy to set up with the switch and I love that you can adjust the colors and vibration power. It is a little on the smaller side but I find it easy to hold for me. One of the features I really love is the buttons underneath don’t work unless you want them to. It’s horrible when playing and you accidentally hit those which messes up your current game. This is a wireless controller however; it does come with a wire set up if needed.

my first controller to use on my PC
I really REALLY like this wireless controller. Connecting to my pc was very easy. Its works great and feels great un my hands. I don’t consider myself an avid gamer but I play a little here and there. I love the feel of the buttons and the click the make. It has a nice layout with the buttons. Also love the led lighting on the controller. I havent had any games clash with the controller. For the price, this is a solid and workable device. I am very happy with it.

    Solid controller
Solid controller with more than enough buttons for every possible function. The RGB options are limited but sufficient. The buttons are all very clicky but have great response speed. The thumbpad could be a bit bigger but it’s plenty functional and I’ve had no trouble even with complicated inputs on it. I could not get either the Bluetooth or USB remote dongle to connect and that might be user error, but the USB to USB-C wire it comes with is plenty long and works like a champ to connect to my PC. Be aware that the USB-C port on the controller itself is recessed a bit and only plugs into smaller USB-C plugs. Something bulky like a Switch charger won’t fit in the recessed outlet.

For the price it works good but not without it’s problems
Over all it works well. Controller is responsive and very precise. Lighting looks good and all features seem to work very well. The only problem I’ve had with this controller is that the Bluetooth connectivity seems to glitch out and causes the controller to disconnect or the input to lag. Even after a hardware update to my PC and to the controller this problem still wasn’t fixed. The USB 2.4ghz connection also has this problem, However when using a very particular USB A port it does seem to work. The wired mode works well

Elite style controller with back buttons! Great value compared to other Pro Controllers!
This controller really stands out with its sleek and modern look. It has all the cool features you would expect from a high-end controller, including hall effect sticks and triggers that feel great to use. One of the coolest things about it is the four additional back buttons, which you can customize for various functions. The grips on this controller are specially designed with a unique texture, so you can keep a firm grip even when the action gets super intense. This thoughtful design makes it super comfy to use, even if you’re playing for a long time.

    Very versatile
It’s various connection modes make it really easy to use with multiple devices and if you’re into clicky buttons this definitely delivers. The d-pad maybe feels a bit too shallow and my unit appeared to have a little bit of damage on the right stick, but overall if you want what is essentially an xbox controller with hall effect sticks and clicky buttons for a good price then this you should definitely consider this.

A perfect upgrade from the X10.
This company is quickly becoming my favorite. I bought the X10 and immediately became the only controller I used. I knew I had to upgrade to the X20 when it was released and it is everything I hoped for. I mainly wanted the trigger locks but having the color options and extra back buttons is an added bonus. I have nothing to do with EasySMX but I honestly can’t recommend any other Xbox style controller other than theirs. If you like Xbox style controllers please give them a try.
