THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS A COINCIDENCE…

When the body of a talented photographer is found on the rocks beneath the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle, DCI Ryan and his team of detectives immediately suspect the worst. But, since none of their potential suspects seems to have a motive, the case runs cold.

Then, when another body is found dead on a lonely stretch of road near Hadrian’s Wall and their only suspect has an airtight alibi, the team are faced with another crime without a perpetrator.

With the number of unexplained deaths in the area increasing rapidly and only a series of coincidences to work from, Ryan and his team must find the invisible link between them to crack the case—before it’s too late.

Can Ryan solve his most dangerous case yet?

Murder and mystery are peppered with romance and humour in this fast-paced crime whodunnit, set amidst the spectacular Northumbrian landscape.

It was like meeting up with old friends to read this, it picked up perfectly smoothly from the last book. As with all of this series the story draws you in – not full of dozens of characters that make for complicated reading with much flipping back and forward. Beautifully written it leaves you wanting more. We have a friend who is born, and bred, in the North East of England, who we told about this series of books as they are set there. I think he was just being polite when he went off and purchased the first book. Before we knew it he announced he was just reading No.20. He said you could totally relate to the main characters, and the background descriptions were so accurate he knew exactly where they were.. I know Ms Ross has had health problems and I wish her a full recovery.

    The circle
A suspenseful thriller that we hope would not actually happen in real life. And again, as evil exists today, the events could already be happening. It’s a scary thought. This was an excellent and entertaining tale. The characterswere well developed, no foul language and no graphic violence. What sexual overtones there were, were subtle with light humor.Thank you LJ Ross for you storytelling abilities.

    beware old enemies
Why do I read the Ryan Chronicles? There are several reasons; LJ Ross is a wily writer who leaves surprises around each bend of the plot. Because I love the continuity of her characters, their habits, both good and bad as well as their desire to live their lives to a thoroughly moral code and help make the world a better place. This, Ross’s 21st Ryan story builds on what went before and adds new characters for us to enjoy. Don’t pass this story up you won’t regret it.

    another great read
LJ Ross does it again. This story moves quickly and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat wondering who the killer is

    Excellent Series of Books
The cast of characters in this series is great. Each has their flaws but together they are a force to be reckoned with. Every book is different but they all tie together so it’s like renewing a friendship when the next book comes out. The plots are very different and this latest book is no exception. I look forward to the next installment.

Too short with less depth Then I like
I suppose this is an example of Amazon books they’re very short sometimes and just keep bleeding onto the next sequel which is fine however my idea of an excellent book is when it has the whole thing in one binder and you can hang onto it and have the reading of your life until the beginning

    And the best goes on…
Lots to like in this episode’s! The interaction between all characters is very real and the storyline is gripping. Humour and warmth mabound.I hope we do not need to wait long for thenext installment. Cliff hangers are tantalizing, excruciating even!Such a joy to follow the continuing saga of these very human law enforcers. The location is an area I know well and love dearly. It is home, although I live across the pond.
