I loved every minute of this book, I was completely and utterly mesmerised by the storyline and couldnât put the book down until the very last word.I was thrown into Deadwater world, with the gangs, murder and mayhem. The suspense and mysterious elements perfection.The detail and emotion in the way the story is written had me captivated and on the edge of my chair quite a few times.The relationship was fascinating, the hunt and the rules have it an interesting twist.The back story of the characters gave the story depth and added the darkness needed.Overall an excellent start to this series, canât wait to get my hands on book 2

This book! Where do I start?! First, if you love dark romance, you NEED to read this book! It has gangs, masked & tattooed men, strong & fierce women, murder mystery, and serious spice ðAlso; it takes place entirely at night!!Do I need to say more?!Arran is a character that readers of Jolie Vines’s books will know from the Dark Island Scots Series. I highly recommend reading the DIS series first because it brings more understanding to Arran and a deeper connection to him and other characters within this book. Also, the Dark Island Scots series is amazing, and I will always recommend it to dark romance lovers. So, if you haven’t read it, I suggest starting with DIS first! I loved having characters from DIS in Arranâs story. I was wondering how Arranâs relationship with the DIS brothers would unfold, and I was thrilled to see how Arran became a part of the family ðWhile reading Arran’s story, I often felt a deep sadness for him. He has endured so much hurt and trauma in his life that he has great difficulty trusting others. Especially Genevieve. Genevie and Arran crash into each other’s lives, and it’s clear from their first interaction that they have serious chemistry. I loved their interactions, how they challenged each other, and how they grew as characters during the book! I don’t want to say anything more because I love going into a book, not knowing too much beforehand, so I’ll end with this â¬If you likeð Masked, Protective Menð Strong Fierce Womenð Murder Mysteryð Dark Romanceð Serious Spiceð Found FamilyThen this is a must read for you!! This book had everything I could ask for: spice, devoted hero, suspense. I truly liked both main characters. And it has a really interesting plot. Definitely kept me turning the pages. The problem? The plot kind of fizzled out at the end. And as others have said, the ending felt rushed. Iâm still not even quite sure what happened.SpoilersSomething else that annoyed me was how forgiving the book was of Genevieveâs dad & of Alisha. Both needed to be banned from the group, at the least.

Jolie Vines you wicked wicked temptress! I found you and this book on the tik tok due to the yummy teaser video you made for it and boy did it ever live up to the hype! Arran is absolutely delicious and my new favorite book boyfriend! He is such a sweet broken cinnamon roll of a man! I loved Gen she was a bit sheltered in the beginning but showed strong character growth and was so loving to not only Arran but also all of the secondary characters that were part of his circle. I loved all of them also. I want shadeâs story, Cassieâs and everyoneâs. Also the whole second plot line of the murder mystery is fascinating and continues into the next book in this series! Oh and letâs not forget the spice in this series is full on Five alarm and the kinks are kinking! It was perfection! Absolutely enjoyed this and am going to read the rest of the series! Actually I think I might have to go check out the rest of this talented ladyâs work!

I LOVE Arran Daniels!!
OMG. This is one of the best books I’ve read in awhile. I LoVE Arran and Gen. The story is so good, I couldn’t get enough. It starts with Gen’s dad missing and her trying to find him before they get evicted. She’s so stressed she gets hit by a car . Enter Arran. She ends up at nightclub, which Arran owns, so he Automatically assumes she’s there to get dirt on him for his enemies. This whole story is just crazy. Arran has major trust issues and doesn’t mess with women, but he’s drawn to Gen in a major way. And he hates it.The Hunt: Gen keeps trying to sneak into club, and gets stuck in a crazy game. (I won’t spoil it) But Arran comes Into to save her. By rules of the hunt they are now stuck together.All bad at first but you know how it goes when theres forced proximity.All of this is going on while trying to find her dad, not get evicted and oh yea, trying to catch a killer. I can’t wait for Shade’s book next. If you haven’t read this you def should!!!

I was intrigued by the character from his first appearance, and I was thrilled that he finally had his own full-length book to tell his story. Arran is a fantastic character with a depth that comes from his broken past.Genevieve is a young, almost naïve woman who has a good heart, and she wants the best for those around her. She takes care of her father and brother as well as she can. Her desire to see justice done for her murdered friend is noble, and her determination to see it through is admirable.An interesting facet of this book is that it takes place entirely at night. This adds to the seedy feel of the town and the gangs who reside there.The paperback book itself is absolutely gorgeous. The black and pink cover is very striking, and the artwork inside is simply beautiful.Arran’s Obsession is the first book in the Body Count trilogy. The story itself is a standalone, but it has an overarching mystery that takes place over the three books.I also consider it to be a continuation of the Dark Island Scots series. This series gives significant background information on the world that Arran comes from, and what led him to where he is today.

Arrans obsession is an amazing read. I was already familiar with Jolie Vines work from the mcrae bodyguard series. This book was so much fun. So spicy and a huge adventure. Their story takes place around a murder mystery with other little mysteries along the way that need solving. Arran is a broken boy turned âgangsterâ and Genevieve is a local girl who hates the gangsters in her town. Following a murder of a friend on the wrong side of the tracks she turns to the gangsters brothel for answers and falls into a game thatâs over her head. A must read and I am counting down the days to the next book Connorâs claim!âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸ð¶ï¸ð¶ï¸ð¶ï¸ð¶ï¸ð¶ï¸
