With Ghosts of Halloween, new-to-me author Layla Fae has written not only a fascinating and original ghost story but also a dark why choose romance full of triggers. Some readers might not appreciate that the book has more smut than plot and simple characters and themes, but I found it to be an entertaining and thought-provoking read, and it got me in the mood for Halloween. As I read, I became invested in the complicated and evolving relationships between the MCs, and even though I wasn’t sure how it would ever work, about halfway through the book, I wanted an HEA for Harlow, Jack, Caden, and Silas, who I realized needed each other to overcome their grief, rage, and traumas to find love and peace. I look forward to reading Ghosts of Halloween again the next time I’m in the mood for a fun and unique Halloween-themed PNR.

I run to read this book before Halloween. It sure wasnât what I thought it was at the beginning haha, it has actual ghosts in the story, when I read all the triggers I wasnât even sure what to expect but as I kept reading I just put it down. Harlow is a beautiful girl who lost his arm on an accident and have a prosthetic. Caden, Jack and Silas are her brother best friends and her protectors/ghosts. They thought they wanted revenge for a mistake she did, but they figure out that she is as lost as they are in this world and develop a bond with her (all three of them). Together they try to heal wounds from the past and make a future together.

Wow, spicy!
So much spice, the beginning of the book was NOT lying! I mean I knew there would definitely be some, but holy smokes, itâs more than half of the book. Iâm definitely not complaining though, I love me some smut! And this did not disappoint! Some of it was sad though which I also expected. I couldnât help but root for Jack & Harlow. That man is super sweet, Calen was such a charmer, and Silas, wow loved him, so strong and what a man! I think though because Iâm so into having a good man who endlessly loves and respects me, that made me love Jack, he was definitely my favorite in the beginning. But now Iâm team all 3! Oh and another thing, I LOVED that this book showed pictures! That was one of my favorite things, that then the smut. Lol. Harlow was a beautiful girl. And the men were beautiful too. Glad I read it, read it at the perfect time of year.

By no means was it a bad book, it was good, I think that there needed to be more plot development. If youâre looking for spicy scenes in every chapter this is 100% for you, but I definitely like plot development with my spice. I will reiterate it is spice heavy, thick, consuming almost. This is an intense read so I would definitely check your trigger warnings at the cover because it isnât for the faint of heart.

I got this book thinking it would be cringey and ridiculous but great for the Halloween season. I went in totally blind so I could experience it all as I read. It was such a ride!! The plot started out a little muddy and it all seemed really silly for a while. But the more I pushed through, the more I started rooting for an ending. The root of our story was pretty grim and dark and the choice of revenge and the whole process was such an outlandish idea lol. Like… why? How is this a punishment and how is this on her? It was all so wild!!! Lol! It’s also extremely spicy. The entire book might as well be one big spicy scene. So be ready for that lol. And is all ways and with everyone present lol!! But I loved It lol. I didn’t think I would and I did and I was so pleased with our ending and our additional scene at the end. Wild wild ride.

This is not a read that is of words. This is a read that brings me an experience that I feel while devouring every single word! Itâs a hauntingly, erotic, story. It has one reveal after another so itâs a page turner. If you donât like darker than dark or want romantic love scenes then do not read this. I loved it and I need these dark, erotic, very very naughty stories that make me burn! This book is a great read and Layla Fae deserves high praise for this well written book! Btw reading this anytime of the year is just as enjoyable ð¤

This kept me on my toes! The dynamic was unexpected in a good way! I didnât realize where the story was going and I love that. It had lots of Spice, lots of darkness, overcoming darkness, and HAE! Lots of trigger topics so CHECK THE TRIGGERS. But great book!!

Last year, this was on my TBR for spooky season (back when it was still just 3 novellas), but I didn’t get to it. I’m sooooo upset that I waited this long to read this book! It was so freaking good! I was up until the wee hours of the morning finishing it, even though I had to be up for work at 5am.I absolutely loved it! It was so much more than I was expecting. I knew it was 3 ghosts who wanted revenge on the girl that caused their ð. That was about all I knew going into it. I was not ready, first of all, for the level of spice (seriously top tier), and second the trauma. I didn’t expect to get emotional reading this, but I totally did. Please be sure to read trigger warnings, because there are definitely some things that will be triggering for some people. Luckily, I don’t have many, so I ate this book up. However, that doesn’t mean I didn’t feel for the characters. My heart broke for Harlow and what she endured. And the boys, especially Jack and even Silas. Basically, none of the characters in this story deserved what they had to go through.This was a unique story. It was dark and gritty. It was spicy as h3ll. (Seriously from the get!) Overall, this was a 5 star read for me. One of my favorite reads of the year. ð¤ð
