Invaluable Book for Children and Teachers
As a child with dyslexia and now a teacher and reading interventionist, I think Calling All Neurons! is an invaluable book for children and teachers alike. As a struggling reader, one wonders what happens inside one’s head and why it comes so easily for some, but not others. Readers will learn how this complicated process breaks down and know that, with practice, reading difficulties can be overcome. For teachers transitioning from the 3 cueing system to approaches based on the science of reading, having a book that breaks down the process in an easily understandable and enjoyable manner is most helpful. Thank you for a book that explains how reading and spelling happen in a fun and creative way for both students and educators.

I really enjoyed reading it, and I found the information super useful also!
Iâm a teacher who wanted to learn more about Dyslexia. I bought Calling All Neurons to keep my own knowledge up to date, and because I like how itâs written for kids to understand. Reading Calling All Neurons helped me understand how the process of reading is achieved, specific difficulties we face while learning, and how to achieve fluency! The bookâs colors are vibrant, fonts eye catching, and the hardcover version has that nice texture to it, and feels great in my hands! Iâll be recommending it to the parents of my students who have children in the process of learning to read 🙂
